It’s also the eclipse and phenomena like it that set us on the path to understanding that reality in the first place.

Hey Space Timers! As you'll hear in the episode Matt says "today" when referring to the Solar Eclipse. For clarity, the solar eclipse in North America will be on Monday, April 8th, 2024. We were originally going to publish this episode on eclipse day, but decided to push the release so more of our community could see it and enjoy it before Monday. We hope you enjoy the episode and that it can give you some more perspective on how important eclipses have been to the collective understanding of our place in the solar system!
Everytime I watch these kind of videos. Always blows my mind how smart the ancient greeks were.
No the real credit goes to the Catholic church for successfully suppressing all this amazing information for literally centuries
Um Actually, There are plenty of other examples of total solar eclipses in our solar system. Some planets like Saturn probably even experience a total solar eclipse so close in size that they also experience the viewing of the corona. Other bodies like completely eclipse like Pluto is by Charon.
What, no mention of the Eddington experiment?
How does time dilation affect entangled particles? For example, if one particle was just above the event horizon of a black hole and the other remained on earth.
I was lucky enough to live in the path of the 2017 North American eclipse and I was less than a 2 hour drive from this one. It was once again, an amazing experience.

I got question that bothers me for a long time. Even You in video about Black Holes might be dark stars still refer to Singularity in Black Holes – but correct me if I am wrong (I'm not a physicist) Singularity exist only in Schwarzschild equation for non-rotating black holes, but as we observed there is no black hole that is not rotating. In Kerr’s equation for rotating black holes there is no such thing as Singularity.
So why all the scientists still talk about singularity, and why it causes such issue for understanding black holes?
This info has no impact on my life. I am not a physisist and never was. Yet, I love your videos. Keep going please. Love to hear physics simplified.

Funny. On3 Greek guy measured the size of the Earth by noting that in his hometown he has at most 6% angle to Sun rays. And perfect allignment in Alexandria. And he knew the distance from his hometown to Alexandria.
He was off by 10%. Or was he? It is very likely that Earth expanded by 10%. If we believe in Larin's metalohydrogen theory. After all, we know the dencity of the Earth core (via seismic studies). And it looks like it is of iron dencity (at a normal pressure). But it has to be +25% if it is at the pressure in the center of the Earth. Iron compresses.
BTW, if you crack open a lava mineral, you would find flakes of Mg. The conditions in the magma seems to be reductive. Very much so.
Which brings us to a point. There is no reason to conserve oil. We have a lot of it. It is formed in abiogenesis.
The Americans did a couple of cool things. They've brought Moon stownes (regiolite) filled with traces of micrometeorites (this is unfakable – it is way cheaper to send humans to moon, then to fake it. USSR wasnt particulary a friend to the US. But they conferemed that the Moon stones are real). The US also planted reflectors on the Moon. Thanks to that we know the distance to the Moondown to a meter.
Obviously, the USSR is cool, because they've send Lunokhods (there is no point to risk human lives, only Americans can risk human's life. Normal people send robots – if it fails – not a big deal). My point is. The Americans were the last people to expose the lives of the Americans to danger.

That Greek was off by 10%, not 2%. Either he had problems with math, or the Earth was 10% smaller.
Off topic, but this channel has really inspired me. I graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies, which is basically the GED of college. It got me a decent job, but nothing too exciting. However, thanks to you, I've decided to dive into physics, which I've always found intriguing but above my pay grade. But thanks to your videos I've started studying on my on and am starting to get the hang of calculus, a subject I used to avoid like the plague…. I'm even thinking about going back to school. So, thanks for everything. Once I've got a good grip on all this math, I'm going for that physics degree and aiming for astrophysics.

After seeing the eclipse in 2017 from the path of totality I KNEW I had to see this one. I waited years, counting down the days until the star aligned again. After finding the most remote town in Indiana under the path I drove through hours of traffic, surrounded by clouds and already an hour late. But I made it early even and the skies stayed clear… it was incredible! Wow! If you have never seen one then I simply cannot recommend highly enough to start making plans NOW. Its likely 20 years until I see the next one and I am already ready.

The Dead Seas Scrolls shows the pattern of the Earthquakes, Solar Eclipse & A RED Moon spoken of in Revelations found in a dream and vision by John the Revelator (Parts were left out of scripture regarding the fact that these same events were 'associated with Jonah's Prophecy (Foretold) & Jesus's Crucificion (Foretold). The Dead Seas Scrolls shows why these prophecies were not highlighted in our bible, because the church authorities of the day, were debunked and intimidated by THE TRUE END OF THE STORY. So, they took out references to End Times symbology out, so that they could take the Resurrection Power out of the Gospel Message that would reach millions and billions by the time of the END TIMES.
Paul warned in Christians in 1 Cor 15, about taking the Resurrection Power of Jesus out of the Gospel, focused on those, of his current day, who denied even its relevance to END TIMES. Resurrection Power is what propels the Dead In Christ out of their symbolic Christian graves. Symbol of Christian Graves comes from the Golden Earring reference in JOB 42. It was known during that day that Sailors or World Travelers wore golden earrings as pre-payment for their symbolic Christian burial. And one might ask what does a burial plot have to do with the Rapture and END TIMES. (HERE'S YOUR SIGN) And I have had dreams watching members of the Apostate church trying to muster up power to 'Rapture Themselves' once they finally realize TOO LATE, that Ressurrection Power & 'Rapture' is that is the one issue they should have prepared their souls for.

The day before the eclipse of 2024, it was announced by NASA, on their official website, that the moon is turning RED due to rusting of metallic particles on it and in its very make-up & nature. (Goose Bumps)
The rust concept was discovered in 2008; but they were going to hide that fact; but, now even to an amatuer scientist with a pair of binoculars its easily seen the actual RED tint to the moon. So, NASA had there hand forced on the fact that, even though knew since 2008 that the moon was slowly turning RED, NASA authorities STILL HAVE NO EXPLANATION . . . (Goose Bumps)
The timing was such that NASA knew people would be laser-focused on the Moon & Sun for a (2) hour period & that issue would definitely come up.
Otherwise that END TIMES detail would have just slipped by. (PTL)

What I loved in totality, is how it didn't turn to nigh time, as people have expected, but it became electric blue. Normally, when you see the sunlight, the color is a mixture of very intense orange and diffuse blue from the atmosphere. And you never question it. But then, during an eclipse all of the orange gets blocked, but the blue atmospheric glow persists. It is as if the light becomes bathroom-fluorescent. The brain starts freaking out, and telling me that I'm inside a giant bathroom with the ceiling so tall, that I can't see it, and the dim blue light is coming from everywhere. Plus the stars are temporarily visible. It was a very short experience, but I'll cherish it all my life, because despite reading a ton about it, I was still blown away by the actual event. I wanted my friends to travel with me to see it, but they all had plans, and I ended up going completely on my own. And it's their loss. If you haven't seen an eclipse, find the next one on the calendar and make travel arrangement to some place that doesn't get much rain. It doesn't happen every year, which only makes it more special. It does make you feel different afterwards. Makes the universe more scary. We're tiny little fleas on a wet baseball in space, orbiting an unshielded fusion reactor. Happy days!
It’s probably called 1/4 moon cus even though it looks like the light is covering half it’s actual covering 1/4 of the sphere cus the bak side away from the suns light will be in darkness

The Greeks did not kickstart science. That assumption is so absurd it’s stupid. We have not ever thought the Earth was flat. The pale face invaders have always known that the Earth is not flat. Totality is caused by a planet the pale face invaders, call moon. When planet moon, also known as planet Luna crosses in front of our star the sun we have a excellent view of a dead planet. 15:03

Gotta have that hydrostatic equilibrium.
I suspect the reason they're called quarter moons is because the moon has a waxing and waning phases. So gibbous waxing, gibbous waning, crescent waning, crescent waxing. There's four of them so the quarter moon points represent one divide of these four parts, while the waxing/waning represents the other.
what ever light they are using for this shot on you is making your eyes look weird and is VERY distracting for people with autisim
A question that has almost nothing to do with this video but that came to mind recently. Has anyone modelled what the expansion of the universe would like like if it was just following the principles of diffusion from an area of higher density of "universe stuff" to lower. ie: the nothingness that surrounds the universe"
Science and nature observation are different things. Greek discoveries were observation and reasoning based, but that is not science. Science requires verifying the reasoning by tests. Hypothesis, testing snd proof based Scientific method was invented at 11th century AD.
