The Dolphins stopped running because McDermott figured out what they were doing and made an adjustment. So they couldn't get those chunk runs anymore. McDaniel is very smart, but not good at making the adjustment to the adjustment.

Truth be told Miami didn't deserve the number two seed. Injuries are part of the game like first downs. They have depth players that are even injured. It's almost weird.
