How Asia remembers Queen Elizabeth II | DW News

The world has been paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth the Second. In her role, as head of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Queen helped advance a new international order of peace and prosperity. She ascended the throne only a few years after the partition of India. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh were created out of India. All three — members of the Commonwealth, but not without their differences. Prime minister Narendra Modi met Queen Elizabeth twice during trips to the UK. He warmly remembered the Queen showing him a handkerchief given to her by Mahatma Ghandi. The PM tweeted she’ll be remembered as a stalwart of our times. She provided inspiring leadership to her nation and people, personified dignity and decency in public life.

  3. British Empire were born from blood, the pain still resonate to this day, but during her 70 years reign she relinquish Monarch power to British Government and she never enforce their subjects, where Commonwealth is a choice.

How much were stolen, is unknown, but in time these artifacts should return as Jeremy Corbyn suggested.

  5. You know the British isles were themselves colonized once by the roman empire. They conquered England, all the way up to the Scottish border. Ironically that is probably what led to England developing so much faster than Scotland to the north. We got the roman alphabet, construction methods, and culture of our Roman conquerors, not that it was moral or fun to live through I'm sure

  6. I’m an Asian and I love the queen so much, perhaps she’s like my grandmother, and maybe perhaps I love history so much especially ww2 era that I started to like her and her humor is so funny. I wish her majesty could’ve lived longer with strict medical supervisions and did not catch covid but that’s how life works we were born and we eventually die, I just hope she is happy from where she is now. I don’t care if you’re mad at her or you’re not a fan but In my opinion she is the best queen ever for me compared to the previous ones. She has seen how the world changed so differently sadly she can’t go further more into the future.

  7. Hongkong people have an amazing integration of the British values and western ways of living,(NEVER EVER a bit relevant to the CCP CHINA👎)in which we establish our own identity as Hongkongers. Many Hongkongers and me, Her Majesty the Queen is our only monarch forever and ever in our heart❤️

These Europeans still like to believe we all think they are the center of the world and we are mourning for some 'queen'. 😆
Nothing against that Queen in person, but we do not give a Fock, honestly we do not.
