  1. The saddest part of the whole thing is the enabling. First from the Steelers, then the Patriots briefly and then it got really bad with Brady and the Bucs.

When you're talented and famous, it's hard to tell your real friends from those who are using you for your skills.

I really think that if AB had better people around him and not just those looking to capitalize on his elite talent, maybe things would be different.

  2. Hate to be that guy but Megaton’s 3 year stretch was technically better, megaton had 379 receptions which is 98 fewer than AB, he had two more touchdowns than AB and he played in 2 fewer games while Megatron on had 57 fewer yards making Calvin statistically more productive with fewer opportunities

  3. So many people have sympathy for this guy because they've convinced themselves he only acts like he does because he has and is already suffering from the effects of CTE. I don't think that's it. I think this guy is just an asshole. Sometimes people are just assholes and to me this guy fits that profile.

  4. @thatsgoodsports Regardless of his personality deficit, I feel you minimized how much a brain injury can change someone's life. CTE isnt the only thing that happens as a result of head injuries. There are things like persistent post-concussion syndrome, psuedobulbar affect, and PTSD that can affect people and how they relate to the world. Imagine how hard it is for him to even tell someone how he feels. There is literally a whole industry that gets paid to shit on him for being mentally ill after he gave a few all pro years. Not everyone, espescially 5'11" 200lb wideouts, has a multi decade career. He had a good career, did well for himself, and its one of the saddest stories to see him implode in the public eye. I can imagine how you came up with entertaining, but its entertaining in the same way any other story about someone losing themselves. Brain injuries can happen to anyone regardless of what they do. Its all shits and giggles on your click bait youtube videos until youre the one peeing on themselves with PTSD with post concussion syndrome, even more-so when nobody understands, or cares. Give the guy a chance to get better.

  5. I remember seeing Antonio Brown his rookie year in the pre-season and I thought… WOW. This kid is going to be a great! And he was… for a while. He just couldn't stay out of his own way. Talented player that is going to struggle post NFL. I hope he figures it all out.

  6. The "choir boy to menace" narrative is obviously way too far, but I believe that it holds some truth. AB was a little unhinged before the concussion, but he was on a completely different level after it. He went from loose cannon to psychopath. In my opinion, the concussion didn't change him, but it made his bad qualities far worse. He likely has serious brain damage, and as someone who was around a guy with a serious concussion, it really changes how you think. They're still mostly the same person, but they're off.

  7. The whole Burfict hit causing a change thing should be treated as a joke. He did not develop sever CTE off of 1 concussion, it's a condition that develops over time.

What was initially said as a joke is now considered an actual possibility among sports fans and its so stupid to see as a steelers fans who watched his career unfold.

    He was always AB.

  8. Adam rank shows how out of touch he is. How can he just compare raw stats as a measure of how good a player is while ignoring all context behind a players era and team situation
