  1. The Velaryons are around during the events of GoT! They are definitely not as powerful or big as they are during this time and it’s safe to say the Dance of the Dragons is a big part of why.

  2. Fantastic episode and fun reaction. But Daemon's sword too long? Nah… check claymores and the even bigger 16th century 'Zweihänder', of at least 4 ft 7 / 4.4 lbs. And remember: people were a lot smaller than today. The biggest Two-hander still in existence is 7 ft / 15 lbs, wielded by Frisian hero Pier Gerlofs Donia, nicknamed "Greate Pier". He was huge and also extremely deadly.

  3. This is easily my favorite episode of the season, and the scene with Viseyrs hobbling toward the throne is one of my top (if not my favorite) scenes in all the GOT universe. Such heavy tension in the room, powerful emotion in the presence, and all around superb acting by all those involved–especially Paddy. When his crown falls and Daemon is there to place it back atop his head is when my tears always fall. This episode also solidifies that Daemon truly does care for his family. We see it in the way he cannot bear to make eye contact with his brother on his death bed (it pains him to see Viseyrs that way); we see it in the way he treated young Rhaenyra early on in the series (even making a genuine effort to comfort her at her mother's funeral); and we certainly see it here, when he beheads Vaemond for insulting both his wife and children. My heart is SO IMMENSELY HEAVY for poor Viseyrs. An exceptionally well-written character with a truly tragic tale. He wanted only peace and I was in some ways glad he got to go out the way he did (even if the peace he finally got to see would be short-lived).

  4. The Veleryons still exist during GOT times. They just failed to mention now along with a couple other houses that were still around because driftMark was right near Dragonstone where Daenerys resided and if Game of Thrones was smart they would have reached out to before she went in. All crazy. We'll see what George does

  5. Rhaenyes is by far my favorite character, She has been even before the show started, she's a no bullshit older woman and has seen quite a lot, she's kind of a less sassy queen of thorns haha

  6. So powerful & moving. As soon as the throne room went silent, the doors opening & the King’s Guard knight started bellowing his titles: “King Viserys of House Targaryen. The first of his name. King of the Andals, and the Rhoynar, and the First Men. Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. Protector of the Realm” as King Viserys walked in weakened but like a boss, he showed he was a tough mofo & a legend. That should make anyone even the most stoic person a bit teary eyed. Viserys did that walk which required Herculean effort in his frail state was done purely on love & will.

Then when Viserys turned to see his brother Daemon supporting him & showing his brotherly love by helping him get up the thrones stairs, it made all viewers tear up & get goose bumps. What a scene! Intesiboe acting by Paddy & Matt. It got Adam & Jay emotional. Ramin Djawadi also did some of his best music here that just added that much more Emotional depth to the scene. Incredible work. Thrones was amazing across the board but I think Paddy & Matt upped the bar for any actors joining the world of Ice & Fire.

  7. In the books House Velaryon is not longer "important" per say, they still exist but don't have the same strength. They support Stannis during the War of the Five Kings, as they are vassals to whatever house sits on Dragonstone. Before Robert took the throne, the Velaryons supported the Mad King,

  8. left righteous guy lacks imagination… he can't separate current reality from fiction that was based from the norms centuries ago… it's also the wrong way to consume an entertainment… that's why you don't enjoy it as much as we do

  9. I have to give it to Princess Rhaenys she has the best poker face. Based on how the episode opened I think she was always planning to back Luke's claim as her husband wanted, however she was waiting for Rhaenerya to show her hand and she just jumped on it. "Bet, I got my grand babies some security. My job is done". She would have made the best Queen (that never was).

  10. The part at dinner where Jacaerys is dancing with Helaena is a sign of what could have been if Alicent had accepted Rhaenyra's proposal earlier. Heleana would have had a decent husband by the looks of things. The strong brothers all came across well in this episode.
