  1. Now the diversity has been turned up so much that it doesn’t make sense anymore within the world. it is starting to look more and more like North America unlike Game of Thrones. GOT what is brilliant in the way that it was easy to navigate where in the world we were at any given time

  2. I love how people think their world view is the view of all audiences. It's the brain dead people who need their characters to act in a very specific way and don't understand their motivations that get disappointed when things don't go their way.

Watch Lightbringer. That guy knows how to deconstruct a character and their motives. I remember when the 'community' hated that Corlys was black. They hated that Matt Smith was cast as Daemon. They HATED that there was an actress change between Alicent and Rhaenyra. Look at them now.

  3. Alicent and Otto really fucked it up huh Otto really needed to just go full genocide and kill everyone and not let his daughter play the half game which leads to this.

  4. Rhaenys not killing her family makes complete sense given what we know about her character and how Westeros views Kinslaying. Anyone who says that she should have just murdered half of her family in cold blood has not been paying attention to the show and does not understand Westerosi customs, taboos, and history.

That being said, Rhaenys being willing to kill all those civilians does not make sense. I can buy most lords not caring if smallfolk die, but not Rhaenys. She is being set up as one of the morally righteous/underdog characters and having her callously kill these peasants goes against that.

However, given events that unfold later in the story, I also get the showrunners' desire to want to have a dragon kill a bunch of commoners. What they should have done is have Sunfyre attack Meleys/Rhaenys in the dragon lair, then have them both burst through the floor while fighting. This would have been better spectacle, more believable for Rhaenys's character, and it would have been a cool reveal for Sunfyre.

  5. This was the first episode that felt really shallow and basic. I was not entertained throughout the entirety of it. Every single character is dramatic, dire and motivated by very similar things.. I miss the more clever characters that were more relatable in the original series. There was certainly much more variety and world building, but to those that are going to talk ish to me about not enjoying it, I understand it's more family drama focused and for that it's fine..
Also, the bad asses need to be more bad ass. 😆🤷

  6. Rhaenys busting through the floor killing a bunch of innocent people reminded me when Majin Vegeta blows up part of the stadium to get Goku to fight him. But then I realized that Vegeta at least had a reason to do it whereas Rhaenys had no reason to. :/ lol

  7. The white worm is the lady Daemon was banging earlier. She’s just using a fake accent incase someone looks for her her accent is different and stands out as something that would be mentioned. She’s given information before when she informed the hand about Rhaenyra and Daemon. They are the same person. Technically her disguise worked I guess, none of you recognized her.

  8. I think She-Hulk has made you guys sensitive to anything with women. That scene wasn’t that big of a deal or about “women empowerment”. Alicent is still Rhaenys’ sister in law. She is a mother like they said and she’s still family. Was she really angry enough to burn her extended family?

  9. I just don't know about this series. I think we keep saying it's good because we compare to the garbage that's been coming out lately but when I take a step back evaluate it on its own merit or even compare it to shows I'd consider good from the past then it feels rather "meh."
I guess the bar for what passes for good has really been lowered I think.

  10. I get there's a book and all but the dragon exploding through the floor could have worked if they just killed a few of the characters, like Alicent and the kid king, sir Cristien. While Otto and eye patch boy run away cause they aren't dumb enough to stick around with a dragon running around. This is the same episode Ned Stark died, a true spectacle. Not this isnt a seven, it's worse.

  11. The ending was a little stupid. If your essentially saying I won't bow and we are going to war why not end it and BBQ your enemies when they're defenseless. Plus she killed a lot of civilians, now they won't side with her lol.

  12. Hindsight is 20/20… When Rhaenys busted through the floor the war had not started yet. Remember that mere hours earlier Viserys begged for peace within his family. The throne has been usurped, but Rhaenys saw that Alicent did not really want a full-scale war. Add to this the fact that kinslaying is a BIG deal in this universe, especially to an honourable character like her. Should she have killed them? Yeah, given what we know. And perhaps she thought about it. But ultimately she probably hoped her display of strength would knock some sense into the greens and Alicent especially – Basically she was saying to them – 'we got more dragons than you – Think twice before fucking with us anymore'. Also consider this – Do you really think the people of king's landing would really accept Rhaenyra as queen after watching her most powerful supporter roast the whole small council and most of the royal family in a very public place?

  13. great episode? nothing happened. most boring episode 9 of any season of got series. aegon being king was hinted last episode and this episode he "kind of" is. wow. it took them 50 minutes of filler bullshits.

  14. What irks me most about this "mother looks at mother and relates to her" stuff is that they try to present it like a very female-empowering moment, but it is just the opposite: it is exactly the very excuse that misogynists have used for many centuries to express their reluctancy at having women as rulers or in positions of power – that women are allegedly too emotional and soft to accomplish their duty or make rational yet difficult decisions when they imply firm resolution and ruthlessness. So, trying to show something they just convey very different things than those intended.

  15. Did anyone else notice what Heleana said when they started looking for Aegon. She blurted out that there was something big under the floorboards and then there was that dragon scene at the end. Maybe I'm looking into it too much but was that some kind of premonition?

  16. I felt like that insanity at the ending made no sense to me! That entire coup could have ended right then and there. Instead we're supposed to believe that the princess showed mercy, right after bursting through the floor and killing dozens of innocent people.
