Emmaβs ways is a little erratic and I think the horse feels the same uneasiness she gives off even to us, spectators. No criticism just an observation but that is why Steve is there, isnβt it?

YES!! Was great to see this owner working things through! JUST like horses, humans should & NEED to understand & use expected GOOD ground manners before or along with any riding! Like we teach toddlers hitting or threaten others is not acceptable as early as possible… With quality & grace vs just being bigger & meaner. To me a horse has to be safe & pleasant to LIVE WITH FIRST… more important than riding! π€·ββThink about it… Humans are around them & interacting with them much more time on the ground (feeding, grooming, leading & all!) than in the saddle.
We watch & re-watch Steve but ALSO can learn even more by watching & imagining ourselves in the owners shoes. Confused, muddling before our mind & bodies "get it". I imagine it's also easier for Steve to focus in the moment on instructing to the situation, horse & human. I get a lot out of imagining myself in the moment, forever refining reading, communication & timing! Thanks to you all for all you are doing to spread this clearer calmer approach!!
