At a hospital, late one night, a physician discovers that one of her patients is missing, and likely has passed away, as he was not expected to survive the night. The physician tracks the body to a nearby medical school, where students are in the midst of an illicit experiment. The physician faces an ethical dilemma that puts her clinical judgment up against the amoral ambition of the chair of the graduate school of neuroscience. Even if the doctor can save her patient, what about the next one? And the one after that? At what point should human compassion outweigh research science and “the need to know”?

It's good but the ending is quite silly imho, she goes from wanting to save practically dead person (with a DNR no less) to willingly let someone enter a chamber with monsters/let the monsters out of the chamber..

Why not just make a full movie?
Omg, why isn't this a full length movie?? Instead we get mostly crap, remakes, and movies that are afraid to try anything different at the cinema. All the while excellent, original ideas like this short, and many others on Alter I might add, don't get nearly enough recognition. Without sounding too childish… it's just not fair.

This subject and visualization really needs a longer format!
Is there an unseen space between life and death where our soul escapes the shell we live in? What happens to the soul when it leaves the shell? I'm not religious but there's something in the Bible about the soul or spirit going back to God. Also something about the dead no knowing anything. Is it possible we could find a way to see or detect the soul as it leaves the shell? And do we really want to see? Would we regret seeing it? Interesting and well made film.

WOOOOOOOOOOOW………I'm sure if this was set to a vote, this would be made into a full-length feature because holy shit. It was foreshadowing from that one girl for me. Replay it and keep your eye on the young lady.
