When I shared my raised garden beds in the 30-day update, I received a bunch of questions about the hoops and netting that I was using over the bed. Since I needed to make some updates to it for the plants underneath, I thought I’d shoot a little video and tell you more about the hoops and net that I’m using on the bed and the little clips that I have that help hold the net to a lift pole and the garden bed itself.
I purchased those from Amazon I’ve included the link below. The hoops come in separate sections and you have little pins where you connect them. I simply pushed them 6″ or so into the sides of the beds. I use various clamps to pin the net to the bed.

Love it! Thanks!
Very inspiring Michelle! Not letting your shoulder get in the way of your gardening. Tenacity is very seldom seen anymore. Thank you for another great video!
Great job. I need to do the same.
Hi darling. Have you grown watermelon 🍉 in the past? Did you have any issue with it taking over? Should I be growing it alone in its own bed?
Greetings from Australia Michelle, I container garden due to back issues and I have many many Birdies beds and I love them. I live in a part of Queensland with the same climate as you and your videos are a great source of knowledge for me. I am nearly 56 and since I am now "retired" I am growing my first garden and since you are 6 months ahead of me with your garden I have been saving your videos and taking notes for Spring. One thing with the raised bed we have had a very unseasonly wet Autumn, with mass flooding in many parts of my area, and with the beds already being well watered the lasts 5 days of constant rain turned them into buckets and I have had mulch, water, soil, seedlings and I am guessing all the seeds I had direct sowed into the beds wash away. This had nothing to do with the Birdies beds just extreme rain. Since we will be going in to "Winter" in a few more weeks, would you try and reseed your Autumn seeds or just cut your losses and concentrate on the coming Winters growing season? Regards Carla
Wow, you did it one armed! And I get frustrated using two. If those green clips don't work, try binder clips (used to bind papers together). They are 100% metal and hold up for years. When I start seeds in a growing tray I use the binder clips to hold the clear cover on.
I think that after your awesome and continuing reviews, that Vego Garden should send you, gratis, all the accessories. Like the modular cover system, with insect netting and frost cover. If/when Birdies offers accessories, they should do the same. That said, it doesn't surprise me one bit that you have created your own clever solutions! Brava! You've done and continue to do such a great job on these. I think many people considering these beds will go ahead and buy one brand or the other, or even both. Whatever hesitation folks might feel before seeing your videos, they might feel more confident now, seeing how easy they are to assemble and how nice they are to grow in. I know that when I can, I will get at least a pair of these beds. Good health and happiness to you and yours!
That was going to be my next question.thank you
I put the veil I used UNDER the rubber edging. It held it down PERFECTLY. 🥰
Hello! Do your neighborhood cats mess with this netting?
