Honeymoon is OVER for Chicago Bears’ Matt Eberflus & Ryan Poles | CHGO Bears Podcast

It is the day after. The Chicago Bears lost. They are 0-1. They have lost 11 games in a row dating back to last season. Plus, that’s nine straight losses to the rival Packers. But, forward is the only way to go with 16 games to play. How do the Bears right the ship or at least get the ship moving in the right direction? We are looking forward on a big week for the coaching staff. Adam Hoge, Mark Carman and Herb Howard turn the page on the CHGO Bears Podcast.

  1. As a Panthers fan living in Chicago, I cannot understand why DJ Moore had only two passes thrown to him. The Bears coaching staff and OC Luke Getsy are terrible. Eberflus should be fired for sitting most of his starters during preseason games.

  2. Thank you, A Defensive head coach who had a historically bad defense last year (I get they traded players) then this year give up 38, they scheme up no pressure against a basic first time starter in Love, team not prepared inexcusable, and Poles hired him, also not sure about Poles draft strategy and free agent picks, from Claypool trade, Velus pick, Davis signing and no focus on either line. But if Emberflus is any good he should at least be able to coach the defense to middle of the pack

  3. Only mistake Fields made is that he trust his coaches. He follows their instructions. Fields might have seen the open wrs but that wasn't the game plan to throw down the field. He said the sides were the plan, so he follow the plan. However, when he did try to make plays 1 went for a td or 2 he had an int… shows he can go one way or the other.
Regardless, it doesn't mean that Justin is bad.
He just needs to go to another team because as we all see Chicago can't hire a good coach.
I rather he go somewhere else to prosper instead of Chicago f$%kin up another skillful qb.

  4. I guess Chicago is the place where qb’s die.. wtf are our coaches problem trying to change the way our qb’s play.. trying to change the way fields playing qb is not the first.. did the same crap with trubisky.. which other teams do this? Oh I know, probably none.. they are professionals in the nfl for gods sake, use their damn skills that they have.. this ain’t no pop warner shit..

  5. If we lose to Tampa, Bears should fire Flus, Getsy, n Williams n start fresh with a whole new Coaching staff, Some credit to Poles for getting more talent, but the Coaches r creating a losing environment on both sides creating bad habits for the players.

  6. Bottom line the coaches were mostly to blame for this embarrassing loss. When you know your offensive line is a patchwork, you have to design plays for Fields by moving the pocket. The coaching was embarrassing on both sides of the line. I could see them letting Fields go and he winds up with a team who has an offensive coordinator who will maximize Fields talent.

  7. I'm sorry, but the Bears are that bad. There really is that little talent. DJ Moore and possibly Edmunds and Edwards, but that's it. The no name Bears. If you have average players then the coaching needs to be exceptional. That's not what I'm seeing here.

  8. Honestly I really don’t care about any injuries yeah it sucks but tbh nothing matter unless I see fields pass over 300 yards with 3td freaking Mitch had 400 yards 5 td game like when is that breakout game coming.

  9. Why was Flus hired in the first place, he ran a vanilla defense in Indy which was never a top 5 Defense, he hasn’t shown an ability to game plan or adjust, seems to have hired two bad coordinators, and yes having EQ and Velus the best two WR blockers inactive with a screen heavy gameplay shows he’s lost, had all year and his team is unprepared. Then preaches hustle and intensity but allows players not to practice or play preseason games. Terrible hire that’s on the GM

  10. All the problems lead to the root cause, the owners who are not football people, just fans. That leads to bad president hires, bad gm hires an that all leads to poor coaching and scouting hires and players and poor schemes.
I knew Poles was a bad hire when he hired Flus. It's all I needed to see and I knew this was all going to go badly

  11. There has been a ton of QBs that were great in college and don't make it in the pros. I think Fields needs to go to another team because the Bears would have ruined Patrick Mahomes if we drafted him too.

  12. I have never understood the Ryan Poles hype. In his 1st draft, instead of helping out his new qb he drafts 2 secondary players? And then the wr he drafts is old? And he lucked out on getting a decent OT in the 5th round. Then he had the most cap space in the league this offseason, and his highest priority is spending at linebacker? Linebacker!! Then i was ok with drafting an OT in the 1st after not signing 1 in free agency, but then you draft 2 DT's?? 1 that is not a scheme fit? Then you dont draft a Center at all, but you draft ANOTHER LINEBACKER. are you freaking kidding me? The GM and the coaching staff ruined a great qb. Fields had no chance to develop.

  13. Flus looks like a shit coach, and Poles is looking bad now because his coaching staff cannot figure out how to make all this new talent gel. If we were going to be giving up 35 points a game we should've got EB. Defensive coaches in todays game are taking L's
