  1. Shalom-children of YAH… you’re the most blessed of all- I moved from Missouri in 1995 to Colorado… I played not far from Preston Missouri near Cross Timbers … spent many days at Pom de terre , table rock and Bull shoals lakes. I live 9300’ feet in elevation in mtns of Colorado. I love it. Short growing season for outdoors and greenhouse a must this high. We have beautiful views and so many wildflowers. Our winters have been light the last few years barely getting 4 inches of snow at a time and this amount can melt by a days end when sunny out. I just caught a pack rat that was hauling a variety of things to a nest…I have had many bears, saw my first cinnamon and white bear couple years ago bse most are black. I have 35 hens and two roosters. 3 mini goats, one big bull cow as where I live is free range for ranchers. Their was a male calf that was left behind bse was blind in one eye. The rancher was going to put him down but let me give him a home instead. He weighs about 2500 pounds now and thinks he’s a dog. As my son bottle fed him and a vet came to home shortly after we got him and neutered him. Found a less than 24 hour old female elk. She was on gravel/dirt road where elk cross, so we waited until dark along with checking on her every hour to see if mom would come for her but she never did. Thought maybe the mom had got hurt. So we put her in floor board of truck and brought her home. Bottle fed her, she was a pure joy and named her Juniper. Meant to share our bull calf’s name is Weatherby and both came when called. After a a year we finally got some help to let Juniper go into mtns. She continues to visit a few times a year coming near with her family now. Other neighbors miles away contact us with pictures of her when she comes to their land. So nice to know she has a beautiful life. We’ve also, raised a very young black bear cub for two weeks before finding help to relocate her. She was way back under a large deck as waited a couple days to see if mom was coming for her but she didn’t. Even a few day old cub has very long claws and plays rough enough to hurt. They potty a lot and smell bad. Lol. We had to pay $1500 to have her placed. But best thing is she lived bse we bottle fed her too. A very interesting life in the mtns. I hope I provided many ideas for you to study about the the mtns of Colorado. Feel free to ask questions of interest you have. I homeschooled my children but their adults now. I really love homeschool families bse the children learn so, so much more in life. By 14, my sons knew how to do body work on cars, repair cars, how to drive a stick shift car, how to build a home, make electric bikes, all mechanical knowledge to work on machinery etc… no govt school can provide any of these things. Being in the world but not of the world is honoring to the Most High… all you children are so knowledgeable beyond your years and I’m so proud of each of you…

  2. Hi Carrie and family! My sister had planted some flower seeds a while back and when they bloomed I didn't know what they were until I saw them in your garden and you said what they were. They are Dahlias and they are beautiful. I am so amazed how you can remember all the names of the flowers and vegetables. Thank you all so much for sharing. I really look forward to seeing your videos.
