Need to up my bulb game. Thanks for the info!
Hi Everyone!! At about 16:52 I start talking about container planting bulbs. The point I was trying to make was that, here in the Northeast, our winters can be cold and wet. If the containers don't drain well, there's a possibility that the bulbs can rot, and therefore not give you any blooms. This is why I choose to wait until late winter to finally pot up my bulbs for spring blooms. I do keep them in a dark cold environment so that they do not sprout prematurely. A dark unheated garage, basement, or in the fridge all work! Hope this helps explain that. Here's the link for my vid for how I do my tulips in pots: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_8eX1ObOjs
I love the fragrance from Hyacinth! I’m hoping to plant a mix in my new bed with Blue, pink and white! 🌸
Very beautiful love them all 😍💖
All the fall hard work I do now will be rewarded next year. Good thing I’m very patient
I love this video! I was able to learn about the varieties of tulips and bearded Iris which I really like and will be planting some in my new beds. I'd like to plant tulips in a container. I live in Illinois Zone 6. Temperatures are still hot. Where should I keep the bulbs from now till end of February for container planting?
What do you mean by best to plant in groups of odd numbers 3, 5, 7 etc???
I just got some allium bulbs..
Thank you 😊 💓 for such great information !
The little anemone bulbs don't require pre-soaking. The flowers hug the ground and are great under a fence. Yes, I love the smell of hyacinth.
Are there any suggestions for how to plant in a bed with perennials so that you benefit from these bulbs as early bloomers and perennials for later in the season?
I'm a member of the iris society, as a note on Bearded Iris… the roots will most likely be pretty dead in the package. Don't worry.
Once planted properly, they'l generate new ones quickly.
Wait until the heat is over to plant, end of September in hotter areas. They're beautiful, enjoy!
I am absolutely delighted to see bulbs they are my favourite to purchase 💕 Thank You for bringing us Steph 💕
Oh yes I adore the smell of Hyacinths my favourites 💕
Aww man what a selection ! And they look so nice. Thanks for taking us along 🙂
Muy bien
Pink impression will come back I heard, I ordered some from A Catolog because someone on YouTube said so
Another amazing tour! Really great advice about not planting the daffodils in rows – thank you so much for sharing this! I made this mistake with my tulips last year. I'm so excited to try growing them for the first time this year! When the time comes around, I would love to see your process of planting bulbs. I'm struggling to figure out how exactly to plant bulbs around existing perennials in the garden (and making sure that I'm staggering them correctly for maximum bloom time!).
Hello thanks you for sharing the great video
I went to our Home Depot and the plant selection was small. I hope they get more soon.
Even im sad the harvest season almost end…but im excited to see those bulb blooms again. 🙄
So excited to see they are in the stores. They weren’t last week in my area. Will be headed that way tomorrow! LOVE irises! Thanks for the info!
Oh I want some of the Replete daffodils! Thanks Steph! 😊
Tulips are my favorite flower. Unfortunately, the numerous deer that pass through each day love them too, so I don't grow them. Cut tulilps in a vase is the best I can do. Sometimes though, my cats will mess with those. The universe is trying to destroy my relationship with tulips.
Oh my goodness I was just at my Home Depot and I didn’t see any bulbs! I’ll have to go back and take a look! I wish tulip bulbs would naturalize better so I tend to lean more towards daffodils since I know they’ll come back really well year after year.
Hello my friend. I have a home depot near me and the fall bulbs are out here as well but not as much variety as you have. Although that being said maybe we will get some more. Who knows. I have extended part of my garden and I am looking for some different bulbs then just the tulips and Daffs that I have already have. I will keep you posted as to what I plant. Anyways enjoy shopping and have a wonderful day.
love this
I’m sad! After watching this I jumped up and took a shower to go get some of the allium bulbs and my local Home Depot didn’t have them! Shoot!!!!
Hi I'm Bonny in zone 5b. I grow the Purple Sensation alliums and they readily perennialize. When they are done blooming just sprinkle the dried black seed heads around the garden and in a few years you'll have more alliums.
I grew Salome last year, it's beautiful. Planted grape hyacinth in front of apricot colored daffodils & it was gorgeous! Even if you don't think you like red tulips, try Il de France. The cardinal red blooms will win you over! Re: planting tulips in containers: "Nature affects bulbs more when they are planted in containers because they are not surrounded by the mass of the ground to buffer extremes. A few suggestions will guarantee success in containers. Water containers in dry periods and when flowering. In prolonged wet periods, cover containers to shield from excess rain. During extreme cold periods, move containers to a garage or some other sheltered area." I plant tulips in containers at the end of Sept here in the wet PNW and leave them on our covered porch and it works great. I think it's best to get the bulbs planted asap whether in the ground or a container.
I am not a fan of red flowers either. Though last year my daughter picked out red tulips for the garden and I have to say that I LOVE them! With so much still looking dead to have the bright red pop is very exciting. I live in Central CT and like yours, our winters are long. To have fresh green growth of foliage, with some yellow dafs and blue hyacinth does it for me.
Love your inventory videos. Really helpful to decide where to shop. Thanks. You are awesome 😎
What ever happened to jonquils? They are a smaller daffodil with white petals/yellow center. They smell so good!
I would love to try bulbs this season but I’m so confused. I’m in Zone 9b. If I bought these, do I need to pre-chill them all in the fridge for a few weeks? If so, do I pre-chill all bulbs or specific kinds? After it blooms and dies off, do I dig them up & store them/chill them to grow again (minus the tulips since it’s a one time use)? Do I plant them at different times if I were to put some in the ground & in containers?
Aslamualikum .

You are so beautiful and beautiful your gardening.
I won’t count on getting exactly what the label says. Bought ice follies from HD last yr and all of them were just plain yellow (NOT my fave).
Another vote for Pink Impression tulips! They are reliable, strong against wind and long-lasting. I thought I didn’t care for Darwin style tulips (I usually buy doubles) but these are great and equally beautiful once opened up. And you can’t go wrong with Angelique tulips! My favourite pink double I planted last year though was Pink Size.
Oh how exciting! I miss seeing the spring bulb sales. Home Depot is 64 miles from my house and because of my husband’s disability, I can’t be gone that far or long.(I think I’m saving money this way, but I sooo miss the earthy fragrance and picking up bulbs).
Thank you for sharing this video with us. You helped me so much especially about looking for critter Resistant. I have squirrels everywhere but it’s a blessing to know what flowers they won’t eat.
I like this cain of videos, good information. It will be good to see une from Lowe's.
