Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows (WWE Legend Documentary) | Real Stories

In this feature-length documentary, director Paul Jay was given unprecedented access to the world of Bret Hart and pro wrestling as his camera followed Bret “the Hitman” Hart for one year. Going behind the tightly guarded walls of wrestling’s spectacle and theatre, the film explores the meaning of today’s wrestling morality plays. As fantasy crosses into real life, the true story of Bret Hart’s struggle with Vince McMahon, the legendary owner of the WWE, is revealed. Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows climaxes with the tale of the biggest double-cross in pro wrestling.

  1. I met an unknown wrestler from the USA that said Hart was up himself and arrogant. But somehow, I didn't believe a word of it.
I was a wrestling fan in the days of The Hitman, and watching clips of wrestling now, the description stands true. The Best There Was; The Best There Is; And The Best There Ever Will Be.
I'm not a fan of wrestling now, and I have met quite a few ex-WWE wrestlers, but the one I would like to meet is Bret Hart. The Excellence Of Execution.

  2. Vince was such a conniving liar the did Bret dirty while Shawn constantly disrespected him and he faced no consequences on top of that he lied to Bret about being in on it and denied it for so long the way they treated Bret near the end was disgusting

  3. Love the documentary. BUT I don't care about Bret having creative control and all that. Bret KNOWS better than to think he could just forfeit the belt the next day and walk out.
WCW would use that and run with it. Vince couldn't have that. He couldn't have Eric bragging how the WWF (at the time) champion forfeit the belt and leave to WCW.
Eric would use that over and over how nobody in WWF could beat him for the title. How he Bret was bored because there were no challenge left in WWF so instead he forfeitted the belt on RAW. That would make the title look like a complete joke. We'd never hear the end of it back in the day. Bret knows this, he is smart he knows.
Then again it was wrong for Vince to simply play along. He should have just point blank told Bret you're losing the title no matter what you think about it, and that's that.
But he didn't. So they were both wrong.
