  1. Two of my brothers hated the fact that they had to share the bedroom with me, so they often folded my bed up with me in it and locked me in the closet for hours at a time.
It scared the shit out of me, but I eventually got really good at escaping. Then they started locking me into an old steamer trunk and shoving that in the closet. Good times!

  2. Another exampe from history: In the play Hamlet are two people by the names of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.* Shakespeare got their names from two Danish nobles in London, who had fled Denmark, because one of them had inpregnated a noble young woman, and her father wanted him dead.
After she had the child, she was immunerated…

    *Rosenkrantz and Gyldenstierne.

  3. In a scene in " The rider on the white horse" a new dyke is constructed at the frisian coast. The workers are stopped from burying a life dog in the foundation by their superior. They protest that the dyke won't hold if there isn't something living buried inside of it and one of them mentions offhandedly that they buried a child in the old dyke a hundred years ago and it still stands.

  5. As much as I appreciate the fact that these punishments have been abolished as society moved on, I still to some degree wish they, along with other torture methods such as acid baths, impaling, and chopping live bodies into pieces, had been preserved and held for child rapists, politicians igniting war and taking hundreds of thousands of lives for their own greed, and others so degenerate that they don't deserve to be treated as human in order to show society that when someone crosses moral boundaries, their punishment will have no moral boundaries.
