I wasn't trying to sass you 👉👈 but if that makes you continue the series i absolutely will. The entire game isn't actually very long, as long as youre always working towards progression at the shrine you'll finish in no time!
You need to unlock a higher tier stray lure to lure more cats in. You unlock it through the shrine. You do need a scratching post for your cats and you can get a basic cutting board for less resources.
