Police chiefs have promised to acknowledge mistakes and not “defend the indefensible”, as they set out long-awaited reforms in the wake of a report into the Hillsborough disaster.

The police response on the day of the 1989 stadium crush – and after it – has long been an open wound for families of the 97 dead and those who survived.

  10. Andy Marsh was the idiot in charge who let the Colston Statue get ripped down in Bristol during the BLM protests. He apologized for that but didn't mean it. Also let a police station get smashed up by protesters. Seems to make a habit out of apologizing but without conviction. Don't trust this guy.

  12. More blah from senior police officers… has no bearing whatsoever on the systematic denial and cover ups that still go on every day. Forces in 'Special Measures' and daily reports of corruption, criminality and misconduct. Spare us the crocodile tears
