  1. I think it would be more accurate to say that pro wrestling doesn't have any normal relationships, period. And that's why we love it.
Of all the dirty town names in Lancaster county the worst is Akron. Anybody who's lived in both PA and Ohio will agree with me.

  2. As a former Pennsylvanian of the Western side, and Center was very close, no, it's pronounced as written. Do not pronouncing it like the French, or British, or other countries. We put those letters there, and darn it, we're gonna pronounce all of them. It's a Pittsburgh thing, for some reason, and one of the silliest things I remember. Also, for whatever reason, it's Crick and not Creek. Not that you asked.

  3. I gave those very dried, flavored crickets to my uncle, who is a university professor, for Christmas. His plan was to put them into a bowl on his desk, and when students come in, to just gesture to them and say "Feel free to help yourself."
I should really get an update on that.

  4. I also wish to express I am a lawyer who was helped through law school by constant LRR entertainment; its a great balm after a long hard day of LAW.

Also its more like Lank-is-tur. But pronunciation is more akin to a war of the roses.

  5. Being originally from the county adjacent to Lancaster County (and it’s pronounced Lane-cas-ter with the emphasis on the first syllable, or at least schwas in the second and third) I was sitting here as Beej was reading the map literally chanting “find Blue Ball find Blue Ball” at my TV

  6. The box reuse thing recently got my nephew on his fifth birthday; upon finding I'd wrapped his gift in a repurposed Amazon box, he asked, "Why did you get me mail?"

  7. Can't agree harder on Hida Folk Village. Just a great place.
Also, shoutout to Gram for prepping me with knowledge about Gifu (with the fishing cormerants) when accosted by some middle-schoolers doing promotional work in Takiyama.

  8. Okay I looked up legal follies apparently it's a law SCHOOL sketch comedy group. So like, imagine Friday nights, but instead of weird magic references it's weird law school references.

  9. As a Pennsylvania native who grew up crossing Lancaster to visit my grandparents, I can tell you it's pronounced "Lan-kiss-ter"! Also, if you ever get the chance, see if you can try root beer from an Amish farm; it's absolutely delicious and ruined normal root beer for me forever!
