Heart-stopping home surveillance footage captured the moment a California man saved his toddler from drowning. One-year-old Cole Petite wanted to join his big sister in their home pool. Cole takes off his life jacket, walks to the edge of the pool and slides right in. Thankfully, his quick-thinking father Zack Petite raced over to pull his son out of the water. Inside Edition’s Ann Mercogliano spoke with the heroic dad.

Teach him to swim. Most babies know how instinctively. But do it with being the teacher and hold him in the water until he gets the hang of it. Most little kids love the water once they learn how to swim. Then he will not drown in the future when he falls off a boat, etc.

The boy (buddy) that went running and hiding in the corner should be ashamed. This is what American culture tries to teach boys to be weak and afraid while it teaches girls to be brave and strong. As a boy it is not ok to cry, not ok to be afraid. Now everyone will see him running and hiding in a corner because a friend was choking. He will be teased.
