1 hr Leetcode, 30 minutes of AOE2 videos, 1hr Leetcode, 30 minutes AOE2…. Can't get better than this
23:08: I feel like I rarely see anyone build as many diverse units as possible in their armies. I usually build the largest army possible with as many different units. A mix of archers and skirmishers. Pikes and men at arms. Heavy cavalry. Cav archers if possible. Siege. If he had enough infantry archers or skirmishers to support, I feel he wouldn't need to worry about any unit introductions like Cataphracts. Granted, I play in AI mode and economy usually isn't a problem so that might not work as well here. But maybe if his army had been backed up at the end by even 12 archers of any kind, plus a few monks maybe he could've completely ruled the game.
26:50: Support halberdiers with knights and archers of any kind?
27:51: I always felt like lancers were bad. I prefer just spamming knights or cavaliers. What's the secret of those units for experts?
He attacked ground at the center point of the the two stables and that farm and therefore all three took damage, I’m pretty sure.
.
Man this game was close, those cataphracts really helped back up the camels. I was originally surprised to see them but then I remembered how they absolutely obliterate spearmen, so it worked out.
This feels like a very hard matchup for Cumans. Byzantines are very strong against civs that don’t get good early advantages and the cheap camels combined with cataphracts basically neutralizes any Cumans composition. Mbl got about as good a feudal boom as you can get on an open map and still felt like it was a matter of time before he was hard countered. The extra hp on hera’s castle on the main hill in the middle came in useful as well. One note on the cast: I love your energy and thorough discussion of the civ bonuses, I think the next step is discussing how the civ matchup might play out a bit as well as maybe exploring what gaps or weaknesses each civ has, e.g. Cumans lacking bracer, Byzantines lacking an eco bonus. Just a thought, overall these are very quality casts!
This man has ruined every other AOE commentator for me with his analysis and humor
I have no idea how MBL lost this. At the 30 min mark he was up 50% villager count. Roughly same army. And 20% more resources collected. More infrastructure as well. He ended up with less villagers than hera with the same kill count?
Announcer annoys.
whats your elo bro?
