Not sure how widespread this practice is, but after the whole ‘Honey’ mess, here’s my experience with LANDR so far:
As I was getting ready to evacuate because of the LA fires, I received my first song earnings, and my account was immediately flagged, with my funds withheld. Initially, the stated reason was “suspicious/fraudulent streaming profile”—whatever that means. After a week of asking for clarification, I received a new message claiming the issue was now “copyright infringement,” and with that my distribution subscription was CANCELLED (of course, their fees are non-refundable).
For context, I’ve only released INFLUENCER, my original track with zero samples. Both LANDR’s system and YouTube’s Content ID cleared it, and I’ve never received a single copyright claim or complaint from any DSP.
Long story short—LANDR charged me for a year of distribution, withheld my earnings, removed my music from distribution, and left me hanging without any support or explanation.
