  1. I miss the time where ppl were asked "did you provoke it? Did you deserve it? Then that's on you." Instead of the "I didn't do anything wrong! I was being nice and polite…. Oh… It's on video… Well sh…"

  2. Yes, it's what my parents taught me and my spouse and I tried to teach our now adult children. I am so proud that they are (from what we can see) successful and good community members, And, more so, I can see it now being applied to and by our grandchildren. What I tried to teach them was 'RESPECT' for other people and their things, and 'RESPONSIBILTY' for one's own actions.

  3. Personal responsibility, what do you mean I'm the victim?

When things happen in life, you can choose to be a student or a victim. It's your choice. Unfortunately, most people choose victim.

  4. "…pointing fingers is easy, and looking into mirrors, that exposes ugly."

My cousin used to say he wanted to marry "…a girl just like the girl that married dear old Dad."+ Say what you want about therapy being cheaper, but he found that girl and married her. She and my aunt cannot stand each other, and if you ask them separately why, they give you the exact same answers . Nothing is going to change until his wife and his mom look at each other, realize, "I do the same thing!" and decide to be better people. It's sad in a way, and it's hilarious. I feel kind of bad for my cousin being stuck in the middle, but there's nothing I can do about it. So I just sit there and enjoy the sht show when my cousin and his wife come to town.

+It's an old song. You can find the lyrics and listen to it on Wikipedia because its so old it's in the public domain.

  5. I don't think this is anything new. People have always been the hero of their own stories. What you're actually asking for is that people stop having a human nature. If we were all perfect, society would be much better. True, but trite.
