I miss the time where ppl were asked "did you provoke it? Did you deserve it? Then that's on you." Instead of the "I didn't do anything wrong! I was being nice and polite…. Oh… It's on video… Well sh…"
Yes, it's what my parents taught me and my spouse and I tried to teach our now adult children. I am so proud that they are (from what we can see) successful and good community members, And, more so, I can see it now being applied to and by our grandchildren. What I tried to teach them was 'RESPECT' for other people and their things, and 'RESPONSIBILTY' for one's own actions.
"…pointing fingers is easy, and looking into mirrors, that exposes ugly."
My cousin used to say he wanted to marry "…a girl just like the girl that married dear old Dad."+ Say what you want about therapy being cheaper, but he found that girl and married her. She and my aunt cannot stand each other, and if you ask them separately why, they give you the exactsameanswers . Nothing is going to change until his wife and his mom look at each other, realize, "I do the same thing!" and decide to be better people. It's sad in a way, and it's hilarious. I feel kind of bad for my cousin being stuck in the middle, but there's nothing I can do about it. So I just sit there and enjoy the sht show when my cousin and his wife come to town.
+It's an old song. You can find the lyrics and listen to it on Wikipedia because its so old it's in the public domain.
I don't think this is anything new. People have always been the hero of their own stories. What you're actually asking for is that people stop having a human nature. If we were all perfect, society would be much better. True, but trite.

It kind of makes you wonder if hubby agreed with you but was forced to… well you get it…
Ah, you have met a member of Karen subspecies, and provoked a threat display from her mate Chadzaurus.

Wars have been started over lesser rewritten narratives.
Feel sorry for the husband because he was lied to. But felt the need to defend those lies.
Hope he realises that there are 3 sides to every story
Her husband wants to 'kick your a..ss' because you showed him who he married.š®
Close enough š
Still in hospital & you're keeping me going š
I don't agree with most of what Comes out of your mouth… even if most of it is funny! But you're spot on here.
I'm ugly, ugly like you.
Personal responsibility is one of the greatest issues in American society today. Own up to things folks. Good, bad, indifferent – be responsible.
Does taking responsibility go for women who get pregnant and then want an abortion?
This is by far your best post ever. So wise and so funny.
And if accountability for actions is too hard…can you imagine being accountable for our own feelings?
You my hero man ! Thank you
Taking personal responsibilty is a big mouthful coming from a US American whose country has made taking no responsibility their basic principle
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha people taking personal accountability in today's day and age. That is some of the funniest s*** I've heard all month
Personal responsibility, what do you mean I'm the victim?
When things happen in life, you can choose to be a student or a victim. It's your choice. Unfortunately, most people choose victim.
Karens never ever think they are at fault.
You hit the nail on the head, as usual, Nate!

When you point at someone, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you
