  1. While it may be true that you can't find "heaven and hell" juxtapositioned as a phrase, can you find it juxtapositioned in an theme or admonition? After all you can find "blessings and curses" (Joshua addressing Israel entering the promised land)

  2. So many mistakes made in this podcast. I wish i could speak with them. For example 1000 year reign is not found in the bible it is the 1000 year binding of satan. It has nothing to do with the kingdom. Also death is death. It is thr opposite of life. When you die you are in the grave that's what they already understood in the OT and that hasnt changed today. You just cease to exist until God wakes u back up. Now the most wicked one, hell… hell does not exist that is a man made concept!! That word does not even appear in the bible.

The most beautiful thing is that GOD WILL SAVE EVERYONE!!! 1tim4:10…as Paul says learn and teach this!!

  3. Totally dodged hell. It is definitely in the Bible and in different forms. Would it be too hard, also, to discuss Catholic notions of Limbo and Purgatory? I dunno, maybe you cover it in some other Judgment episode.

  4. This sessions really brought to mind how afraid people are of going to Hell. Meaning to me that that is the true/only motivation people can have to love God. There HAS to be more to it than that. That’s why it’s really important for me not to focus on Hell. I want to focus on my relationship with God and growing in love for Him because of who He is to me, what he has done for me in my life, and the transformation he’s done in me as a direct result of coming to the truth of Him. I also hope to do for Him as He will have me.

I’m really interested in understanding scripture the way the Jews did prior to Jesus’s arrival here in earth and the way the 1st century Christians understood it. I feel over time, we’ve begun to have a corrupt view of God. Just a bit. Our motivation should not and could not be just not going to Hell. That’s not love, that’s fear. I hope I expressed this in a way people can understand.

  5. I think there is a whole lot of confusion in the explanation of the speaker. To say that God made hell as a place to respect wishes of the rebellious is False! So you mean that God also respected Satan's wish for rebellious in heaven to want to put him unto hell. I don't agree .

So if God isn't wanting to judge people, why did he destroy world in days of Noah! Why was it so important to allow Jesus to come die in the world, when all he wants to do was to create a place in the new heavens and new earth and allow the disobedient people stay there because they chose too.

This discussion today appears like a fallacy with no scriptural text to back it by errors to puncture what we believe in our faith! I have read through the bible several times and I can be confused by your discussion today.

  6. How could He have been in Paradise that day with the thief?

In fact the scriptures state he was in the heart of the earth Mat_12:40, proclaimed to spirits in prison (Sheol/Tartarus) 1Pe 3:18-20 and had not ascended to His Father (Joh_20:17) in the heavens. His Father did not give him a resurrected body (the one he has now) for 3 days and also the thief does not yet have a resurrected body – and he won't until the first resurrection and at THAT time we will be like him and be with him where he is.

Also, paradise (a walled garden – sound familiar?) aka Zion, New Jerusalem, Eden is in the third heaven (Gal_4:26) still barren (Isa. 49+54) and will be until we are collectively born from above when Jesus returns for us. When she descends at the BEGINNING of the kingdom (Rev 21) then she will be adorned with her children who were resurrected at the 7th trumpet of Revelation.

So where is the thief now? From the scriptures please.

Our Messiah says of Lazarus and the rich man clearly where they are and the state of their souls Luk_16.

  7. Tim you are wrong ! We are going to be ressurected and receive new body’s ! Your concept of new creation is completely wrong ! God clearly states that he will make a new heaven and new earth ! I disagree with a lot you say Tim ! My hope is in a new physical ressurected body ! Jesus is in his glorified body and that’s what all believers hope for ! Please stop preaching false hood

  8. Dear Bibleproject people, I really enjoy your video's and they made me look at the Bible in a differant way… I would like to explain to you how I understand what happens after death… I appologise this is going to be a long post but my hope is that you would take the time to read it and maybe even give me a comment back if you think that "there might be something to it" or if you think that I am way off…

To expain how I think about death I'm going to use computer analogy…
The Bible says that we as humans consist of 3 things… God created Adam from the dust of the earth, so the physical body (the hardware of a computer), then he breathed the breath of life into that body (the powersource/electricity), and then he became a living soul (kind of the software because that's differant on every computer)…

So what happens when we die, well this is how I understand the Bible… The body (or hardware), goes back to the earth (ashes to ashes, dust to dust), the breath of life (or electricity/powersourse) goes back to God, and the soul (your identity or software) goes to sheol (so it's like it's transfered to a external harddrive where everybody who ever lived is stored)

In sheol we are cut off from a powersourse so we are in an unconcious state (so we don't feel, hear, smell, see, or have any concept of time passing by) like the Bible says it's like sleep…

I believe we stay on that external harddrive untill the ressurection… At the ressurection our software will be pulled off off the external harddrive and put into a new computer (our new eternal bodies) and God will give us back our breath of life (so the will turn back on the powersourse to bring us back to life)
We will be judged at some point and those that are deemed unricheous/wicked, their software will stay on that external harddrive, and then that harddrive will be destoyed in the lake of fire…

I do have to strongly disagree with one thing you mentioned a couple of times in various video's and that is a quote of jesus when he speaks to the criminal crucified next to him…
you claim multiple times that Jesus says: Today you will be with me in paradise…. However that is not the whole quote and that's actually not what he is saying…
Jesus says: Surely I tell you today,,,, (in other words: I tell you right now),,, you will be with me in paradise…
Jesus never claims the criminal will be with him in paradise that exact same day, that criminal has to wait for the ressurection just like the rest of us…

From what I understand of the original hebrew/greek tekts, they don't know the concept of the comma… so your understanding of that quote changes wether you put the comma before the word Today, or if you place the comma after that word…

But because we are in an unconious state in sheol, when we will be ressurected it will feel for us like it's the same day that we died because we had no concept of time passing in sheol…

Do you guys think my understanding of death is OK, or do you totally disagree?
please excuse my bad English (it's my 4th language)…

    Thanks, Martin

  9. I came on here because it's your most recent video. I really wanted to just say that I just found your page. yesterday I watched all 20 videos in your how to read the bible playlist. I just sat there and watched all of them in a row I couldn't stop. This page is so important lol

I truly feel like literally every single human on the planet should watch those videos ha ha

Literally every single question I've ever had about what the bible is exactly, and the origins of humanity, all of it. It immediately led me to watching the section you have on spiritual beings, elohim, angel of God, the satan, all of it. And it's like. Literally in one single night of sitting here watching your videos I learned the answer to every single question I've ever had. I've been trying and wanting to give my life to Jesus for so long I just was grasping at straws and I couldn't figure it out. I was right on the precipice of it all. I was so close to having the answers and being on the right track. And your videos are so eloquent, simple, beautiful, intelligently and very carefully crafted. it is very obvious that you guys tried to take as much care in the animations and the words you are using as the biblical authors did themselves.

This is seriously such a beautiful thing. God bless you all and your mission. Thank God for reaching out to me through this channel. God will take and use the works of evil for good. And while social media and the internet has become a dwelling place for dark people and dark things… God still uses it in his name for greatness. Incredible. I am about to watch every single video you and your team have put out it's all so important.

  10. A theme video on hell would be definitely very enlightening for us guys. All of your videos have been so far so good. I can’t even remember what year I found out about you guys. Well done guys. My life has also changed funny enough I hadn’t thought of it but you guys play a huge role in all that has transpired. I have achieved all my targets and have learnt so many lessons. I remember the clarity came fully from understanding the Bible fully. You covered the entire bible and made it clear to so many of us.

I even have a bible quiz game on the App Store and I achieved that by connecting with my young self. The things I loved and what I enjoyed most. I remember my parents used to get us bible quiz games regularly and I decided to take things digital hehe. I also perfected my programming skills using this quiz game as my first initial example based on interest.

Glory be to Jehovah the merciful.

Cheers to you guys. I will never forget your struggles. Of course you guys are doing this entirely out of a charitable mind. Appreciate it!

  11. The Bible Project claims: You would only get the idea that God wants to save you from hell if someone told you that was what it was about. You would not derive that from the New Testament.

This uncharitable claim attempts to shame believers who actually do see this as an element of the Bible's teaching by basically saying they aren't able to understand the Bible (my opponents are stupid/gullible). This gives the Bible Project permission to re-interpret verses that contain this component of the gospel.

In Matthew 10, Jesus tells his follows not to fear those can kill the body, but the fear the One who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
Matthew 5 (the sermon on the mount) contains 3 warnings of heart conditions that lead to being cast into hell (note the active syntax in those verses).
Jesus's core message was that people would repent and return to the Lord. He was not ambiguous about what happens to those who do not repent.

  12. Luke 23:34
"34 Jesus said, " Father( God our Father in heaven) , forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots."( Luke 23:34 Zondervan NIV Study Bible) in Jesus'name, i pray( Luke 23:34). Amen.

  13. So, I'm a little confused. Is it your interpretation of scripture that when we die we will go to sleep until Jesus returns, because I don't see that would be right scripturally? Thanks

  14. I dont know how much I am asking of you bible projects, but could there be a possibility that you guys start a series of the parables that Jesus teaches in the 4 books of the gospel and other parables he teaches?

  15. Hey fellas just wondering when youre going to cover Maccabees, the Wisdom of Solomon, and the additions to Daniel. Just because you are in schism with Christs True
Church doesnt mean you can deny the deuterocanonical books and their teachings to others in their journey to Christ.
