  1. Golden Crown can refer to what Drogo gave to Viserys.. But it also can refer to Joffrey having a "golden" head of hair. Obviously an odd thing for a kin of Robert's.
That scene with Drogo protecting Dany pretty much is one of my favorites from season 1

  2. I think you guys would have easier time with locations and geographic names if you bad a map on paper or opened in a browser 🙂 I feel like it helps tremendously when you start with the show and gives you a more clear idea of what happens where

  3. A ward serves two purposes in prominent houses. Allied Houses often exchanged children to be fostered between them as a sign of trust. Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon were both fostered by Jon Arryn which is why they grew up as brothers and think of Jon Arryn as a father figure.
The other purpose is a hostage situation. Theon's father rebelled against the King, so he was forced to give up his last surviving son as a foster to the Starks to ensure he would not repeat any rebellions.

  4. 🚨🚨The first person who comments the answer to my question I will cashapp them 5 dollars. Who was the guy who started the commission and 5 families of New York? And if you can name the original names of the 5 families I will give you a dollar for each one you get right so if you can name the right person and all the original names of the 5 families that’s 10 dollars you win.🚨🚨

Come on people let’s see who’s the quickest one to get it right and to the people who don’t make it in time look for my comments because there are more of them that nobody has answered yet. Goodluck!!

  6. 😃Great analysis of the houses, sigils, hair color, and overall plot! I absolutely love the thud when Visery's gets his golden crown and he falls inside the temple at Vayas Dothrak! Khal Drogo gave him a crown for sure.

  7. the vale is one of the 7 kingdoms but its a little confusing, i think in this same episode robert talks about making the 8 and mentions the 7 kingdoms + the riverlands so are there more than 7? there were 7 kingdoms at the time of aegons conquest, aegon is the first king. those kingdoms were the north, the kingdom of the rock (the westerlands) the mountain and vale (the vale) the isles and rivers (the iron islands and riverlands) the reach, the stormlands and dorne. after the conquest the kingdom of isles and rivers was split in 2 and the crownlands was added so there are really 9 kingdoms

  8. I keep saying it, but it's not meant to be a secret who sent the assassin. We know Tyrion is innocent because Cersei told Jaime off for doing it, in Episode Three – it's the conversation where he ends up saying he'll kill everyone in the world until only the two of them are left.

Jaime would have easy access to all the rooms in the Red Keep, probably just picked up the dagger at random from Tyrion's room. He didn't mean to frame his brother, who he loves dearly. But how could he possibly imagine that the dagger would be traced back to Tyrion?

Jaime's in the Kingsguard – it's bit like being in the Night's Watch, he's not allowed to take a wife or have lands and children. It puts into perspective his remarks to Jon about taking the black. He's also talking about his own life.

The Vale is one of the Seven Kingdoms.

You're not wrong about the King.

I love the discussions afterwards – I like many solo reactors but the problem is they can't discuss with themselves – and keep on making the predictions, it's great fun hearing those.

  9. Jamie is in the King's Guard and the rule is they can't have a wife or father children.
You guys should watch the history and lore after season 1. Each season has its own history and lore video.

  11. Targaryans have dragon blood, it makes them fire-proof. That's why Daenerys could step into the scalding bath and didn't get burned by the hot egg. The dragon blood is also how the dragons can instantly recognize a Targaryan by smell.

  12. In regards to The October's statements about King Robert, while Robert wasn't a great King, he deserves respect bc that man was a absolute badass of a fighter, he won 3 battles in a single day. The fact is he took through flesh and blood his kingdom, he may not rule it well but he damn sure earned it, no one can take that away from him.

  13. 7:37 It's a giant gummy bear that doesn't taste good. Fun fact: It was so sticky, Emelia Clark needed help to sit up from the toilet since she was stuck to it.
11:37 That joke will come back and you will hear a little more each time.

  14. The Vale is a whole region in the east just north of kings landing. It’s one of the “seven kingdoms”. Inside the vale is a mountain city called the Erie. It’s WAY up a mountain and is held by house Arryn. Obviously Catelyns sister married into the Arryn family.

  15. I really hope you see this! Regarding the relevance of all of Robert's bastards, I can say a few things without them being spoilers.

Now that you have seen this episode, you know that – historically – all of the Baratheons have black hair.
What Jon Arryn was doing was to track down all of Robert's bastards to get a good look at them. Since there are quite a few, and their mothers all had different hair colors, it would be a good test to see if there were ANY other instances of Robert having blond-haired children other than his children with Cersei.

With that in mind, rethink about the conversation with Gendry, the armorer's apprentice. Jon Arryn asked him about his mother, and he said: "She had yellow hair."

Think about the girl in Littlefinger's brothel that Ned talked with before getting attacked by Jaime in the streets. She was blonde, but when describing Robert's daughter she says: "She looks just like him. She has his hair."

Think about what Jon Arryn kept saying before he died: "The seed is strong." Different people interpreted it in various ways, but what he meant was that Robert's genetics (and coloring: black hair with blue eyes) would always prevail when producing a child.

The consequences, as you correctly interpreted, would be: who has a legitimate claim to the throne?

  16. Good reaction. A ward is a prisoner of war. But Theon is from a high born family so he was treated well and grew up in winterfell much of his childhood. His dad rebelled, had to surrender him, if his dad rebelled again, Starks would have to kill Theon (Greyjoy)…their ward

  17. So, about the King. I think he never really wanted to be king, it was more decided for him. Robert's Rebellion (The war that put him on the throne) was never about crowning Robert king, it was to end the long and cruel reign of Aerys Targaryen (the mad king/Daenerys' dad). Robert killed Rhaegar, the heir to the throne, and Jaime killed Aerys (that's why they call him Kingslayer). After the Rebellion ended they needed a claimant to succeed Aerys and Robert was the best possible candidate. House Baratheon is related to Targaryen and Robert's grandma was a Targaryen herself. So no, Robert never wanted to be king, he was, in fact, one of the best warriors in the Seven Kingdoms back in the day. He loves violence and fighting so being king and sitting on the throne all day long wasn't his idea of a good life. He may not be the best ruler, but at least he's no a tyrant.

  18. The concept of trail-by-combat is a testament to the importance of religion in the GoT-universe. What it really means, is that whatever outcome of the fight between the two champions, is a reflection of the will of the Gods. So demanding a Trail-by-combat, like Tyrion does, basically translates into letting your fate be decided by the Gods (and not by the jury). Remember, these are medieval times and people are highly religious.

  19. Theon Greyjoy is the last living son of Lord Bailor Greyjoy and was taken by the Starks as an "insurance" after the Greyjoy rebellion that that would never happen again or ….you can guess. But he was a child when he was taken and has grown with the Stark boys so he's not really a captive anymore but still…🙊🙊🙊
