Maybe they brought the kicker in to see how he would handle some pressure. They can't simulate the pressure in just normal practice, but if someone is on the sidelines waiting for you to mess up, that creates a high pressure situation.
I know the common theme from all this is, he had a terrible performance and everyone has a bad day and it shouldn’t overshadow his success, but with the fact that it was a prime time game and the 4 in a row he missed, it may stick with him and define him and his career for a while. You hate to see it but that’s how it’s been for every kicker, you can break records and be clutch but one bad game or one important miss, you’re done with.
I think he will be alright Jerry mad e the right move by sticking with him but if he misses in this next game he may have to go you have to be ready and deliver in the playoffs
