  1. what a masochist lol. 100 hours of cata. I guess he took it quite literally. "do something for 100 hours, maybe it gets good". Cata is by far the worst expansion in the game, at least Shadowlands had something that was fun, Cata had nothing… well, the firelands raid I guess. Don't get me wrong, Shadowlands and BFA were complete trash, but not as bad as Cata. Even after they updated it in MoP it was still bad. I didn't actually play cata when it was live, but I leveled through it and I did Dragon soul. it's so bad… a baglady's fingernails are the last boss and the second to last you are popping pimples off a dragon's back. the reason I didn't play it when it was current is that I saw what Cata was gonna do to the world in like June 2009 and I quit WoW and for 2 years I didn't play an MMO at all. I was waiting for SWTOR, which was released in December 2011, so about 2½ years without an MMO, it was worth it though, because I was not gonna play that rubbish. I did follow along with it though, Preach and others played it, Firelands and all that. Firelands was pretty fun to do.
9:25 see, now, I disagree with this. in Vanilla WoW, hybrid hunter spec was way more viable than going full out in one tree. at level 60 I used 0/21/30, opting for Scattershot from the MM tree rather than Wyvern sting and that was the optimal way to play hunter in my opinion. I used it for PvE and PvP.
23:35 wait… Vanessa Vancleef was a dungeon boss? I never did heroic deadmines. I know she's a rogue order hall champion in Legion.
On second thought, maybe I'll try Cata classic, but I'm not doing dragon soul. When I have progressed up to Dragon soul, I consider myself done.

  2. Weak people think that with the renewal of the world comes the end of Warcraft. But we know how it will actually be and with the update of the world, Warcraft will only gain its greatness. All that was before the cataclysm was a children's sandbox.

  3. fun fact. Focus was intended to be the ORIGINAL resource for Hunters in Vanilla wow, but they couldnt figure out how to implement it, as it was buggy due to being the Pet's resource.

By the time they figured out how to make it work mid wrath, they didnt want to put it in mid xpac, so they waited for Cata.

So it always makes me laugh when people say "Mana on hunter is the original design i hate they changed it" being as it wasn't the original intent to be mana.

Kevin Jordan (original class designer for WoW) answered this exact question on Countdown to Classic Podcast #99. They wanted to do focus, hunters even had it in alpha or beta at some point, couldn’t figure it out, so they gave them mana because it was already a very well developed system, integrated with game mechanics and stats, that was easy to understand. Made it easier to itemise the high level mail items as well, since all mail users used mana.

  4. dats why i dislike cataclysm a lot.

for example as a rogue player you'd pick 2x talents in ruthlessness(Deadly momentum in cataclysm)
    then go rest into combat.

but now you can't cus need 31 talents in one talent TRee.

  5. I think "Classic" in its actual form ends with WoD. If that expansion releases as it was, i think its the breaking point to stop or to change things in a bigger way. Cata was not bad, it just wasnt as good as Lich King. And lets be honest Lich King classic was ass.
Worst thing for me are GDKP Raids which much likely causes the botting and gold buyer situation.
If GDKP goes on in Cata, its gonna die after Firelands.
Btw Firelands are the greatest raid ever made, change my mind.

  6. I also stopped playing Wow when Cata launched and returned to WoW at Dragonflight. So for me, I'm excited for Cata because it will be new. I love the Tmog system because classic gear prebis/bis have you looking like a clown 😅. It was interesting when I did play DF I had to relearn the game. I remember wondering why I couldn't make bandages and asking in General chat and people were like why would you need bandages 😅. I did try every expansion each time I leveled an alt but only got to experience a very small part of the content due to how fast you leveled.
Lastly for someone who was on such a long break from the game and doesn't have the time to play all day like I used to, I've been enjoying the content immensely from a solo player perspective.

  7. Classic will never end. All people do nowdays is raiding. Raiding got progessivly better for each expansion untill it became more or less impossible for the average player at it is in retail now. People will even love WoD, because of the raid content

  8. Everybody hated Cata back then because it completely broke and revamped the old world everybody loved and got acustomed to. Sure the zones got aestethically better but they never retained those legendary traits that made them great. Examples are Barrens or Thousand needles. Ive played since 2005 religiously and i stopped 1 month into this expansion, every one of my friends quit too and it just wasnt the same socializing game anymore, felt more and more like a single player.

  9. the only reason i skip quest text is because i played all this ish growing up, i've seem the quest text i spent the majority of my childhood playing this game, and I usually remember exactly how to do quests because i've done them so many times on so many different characters

  10. People who hate cuz they cant come over it that time passed and cant cope with the fact that they are 35 now. Do you realise that people are born at cata release, now want to play that game too? Like that game is literally 14 years old. Dont juck another's jum. They want to experience it too.

  11. Cata was pretty good; the death of WoW was MoP as it completely killed the vibe of the game with the setting. I remember swifty making a video about it and I thought it was a joke video, no way would blizzard make an expansion about… pandas. I was wrong and the game sucked from there on out.

  12. Feels good to hear some positive feedback for Cata. I had so much fun back in the day. It finally felt possible to complete my sets on a couple characters without no lifing the game. Plus pvp felt great imo. Can’t wait for heroic Rag

  13. Cata isn’t bad. It’s just not classic. Cata is the turning point where it becomes more retail. Leveling becomes an obstacle instead of the journey. Gear is almost obsolete as abilities lvl with you and do dmg with you so you never really upgrade. Your talents are locked into a specific subclass and you get your base kit at lvl 10, just making it very retail feeling.

When I think of classic I think the opposite. I log in at lvl 1 and I’m playing. When you hit milestones, like 10/20/40, you feel the power lift. When you find that first green or first blue you feel the difference. It all matters cause the focus is the leveling and not all about endgame.

  14. Hot take, but I have always thought LFR was fine. If you hate LFR you can literally just ignore it and run the normal raids.

The only thing that’s kind of weird is how OP some of the raid trinkets are in later expansions like MoP and tier sets from LFR.

  15. oh … I don't really like wrath – it's more like I put up with most of it for the things that I like and the investment i have in my character.
I do like heroic+ (I don't really like how mindless it is to get into groups tho).
basically I like that you can earn tokens as SOME form of progression that is not based on rng drops and that you can run dungeons in 5-man groups for "endgame" level rewards and not haveto schedule for weeks to adhere to a raiding schedule.
the fact that my paladin is going to be heavily adjusted into something more like a rogue(for ret) is too much for me to stick around.
why it matters so much to me is – I don't mind going healer or tank in groups but solo/world content any of those specs helps nothing. I define my character – not purely based on what they do in group content but more what they do in solo content – them changing ret to such a degree feels bad – to me the SoD ret pala is more like what I imagined ret to evolve into

  16. 15:25 – NOOOO Vehicles are bad! they make you not interface with the world as YOUR character but as generic car…. I can tolerate some daily quests where you act as a turret but it's not fun. it doesn't have me express my character in the gameplay… it's really bad when they have like 20% of each zones leveling quests be vehicle based…

  17. 19:50 do you know what transmog does imo? it makes every equipment slot purely stat based. my badass weapon I found in the dungeon? no I have the TBC raiding sword I want it to always look like… so every weapon becomes a stat stick… every helmet becomes a stat stick – it don't matter what name it has, could literally be called helm#469ilvl800 for all i care…
imo what is the better customization is tinting/recoloring. so the model is always the same but you can match like the colors of the cloth/leather/mail/plate pieces so you don't look like a rainbow, unless that's what you're going for.

  18. 23:30 the dungoen journal probably only exists because of atlasloot so yeah however… whats the diagetics of the journal? every adventurer gets one at lvl1? with tactics for how endgames dragons act and should be killed?? not much of an adventure is it?
