  1. You mentioned something about the tractors being gone. Did you mean you sold some of them or that they are elsewhere currently? That grapple is slick! How well made is the 90* right above the mount where it attaches to the skid? It seems like over time it may developer issues right there if no extra gussets are added?

  2. Man I'd get another for the field and forget the other grapples. It'd save so much turning with the tractors. Even if it don't tie the stack, the time saved would be worth it I think.

  3. The grapple looks so simple and works great Dennis, also nice and neat, does your JD and 5711 lift any higher than the skid steer your using ? Your skid steer will be working well on the new floor in your building.
Hope you and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for 2023 .

  5. With the Bale Baron Bundles 36 -21bale bundles will fit in a 53ft trailer….. Being as we use a ramp and a 5045E tractor with forks…..(tractor has a canopy) we use swinging door trailers. We load directly out the Baron…..So when a store calls all we have to do is go……(Drop and Hook),,

  6. Merry Christmas, Dennis! I didn't know how a tool could make your life any easier but I just saw it for myself! lol
I like the gussets on the transition from the skid steer uprights to the extended arms. It didn't appear to flex at all.
Dig a hole and pour some concrete so you can back a truck up to the building and slide a 7 pack directly into the truck.

  7. I am not familiar with Steffen Systems although I am only located about 50 miles north of Salem. Will be checking into this bale grab after seeing it in your video. Thanks for some very interesting content! Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)

  8. To make up your stacks inside, you could make stands to stack them on so you could get telehandler forks under them then lift the stacks with a telehandler, set them as far into the trailer as you can and push them with the next stack. If you can't push multiple stacks you might have to switch from telehandler to skid steer.

  9. that sure beats the way that tractor trailer has to be unloaded.very slick way to load and handle those stacks.only sugestion i would have to speed things would be if you could take like half a pallet high out on forks and then line the packs up out there behind the trailer so you didnt have to make so many track miles back and forth.not sure if thats possible, but might be something to look at.hope you all had a merry christmas, and have a great new year

  10. You're 100% about having lots of wagons.
Overall pretty easy and cheap (to find or rebuild if needed)
Don't really need brand new or real expensive unless you have a lot of road travel.
    I think we're up to 8 or 9 now.
Makes a huge difference to get 700, 800, 900 up off the ground and rolling back to the barns, or even sell off the wagon in the field
    Love that new grapple!!!

  11. also, regarding loading the dry vans-
Maybe buy or have a welder fab up a 6-8 foot wide fork frame for your skid steer.
Put 4 forks, 6ft long on the frame.
Build a stack 6-7 pads high in the barn, pick up the whole stack from the bottom with the skid steer, load into the dry van.
I think the bales would have enough weight or friction to back skid away from the pile.

(Try a test run, maybe with a couple round bales stacked on end with 2 standard 4ft forks first)

  12. This is so cool! I only go through 30 bales a year for our goats and I would love to have this. Obviously it doesn’t make sense for me but I have always been intrigued by your baling set up. The accumulator, the grapples, the tie grapple, and all the tractors you have. I am excited to see some of your snow pushing videos. Happy Holidays!
