These uploads always line up perfectly with my opening shifts and I love it
Oh man, I wish the guy in the first story explained the context of the guy who hit him. For the loads of fines I assume he wasn't in the right conditions to drive. This is a great reality check, driving a car is no different than owning a gun.
I physically hurt myself and nearly overdosed on over 60 paracetamols around 10 years ago. Doctor said if I didn’t get to the hospital in the hour I did I would be dead. My reasons were being young dumb and in love with someone who wasn’t in love with me and our relationship messed me up. I used to be a very social and interactive person, loved life and ever since this incident I’ve never been the same. Got addicted to alcohol and many forms of drugs over the years on and off. I became a hermit and I spend most of my time at home if I’m not in work. The last 3ish years have been better I got work and managed to cut my drug use to just weed and I rarely have a drink now. There isn’t one day I don’t think about what happened me and all the bad shit but hey the one thing I can take away from it is I physically can’t hurt myself anymore over the trauma of nearly dying before no matter how much I want to everyday.
I got poisoned by cleaning products when I was a child, I suffocated.
Not at all tbh
I'm a security guard my boss tried to get me to do armed guard duty at a tops I did it for one but I didn't do the other one I'm pretty much sure the other one is where the guard got shot that night
After almost sliding out of a carnival ride where I couldn't touch the floor because I'd stood on my tip toes to meet the height requirements as a 9 yr old, I now share the story to let people know those height requirements are there for a reason.
I was a stupid college kid. I was listening to the radio too loud and had been following a car that was too slow after a school day that was too long. I got road rage, we got up onto the highway and a second lane opened up and I got over. There was a semi in my blind spot. I went 50' sideways in the fast lane before he was able to get off the side of my car and another 50' sideways before coming to an abrupt stop via a guard rail. I was in a Dodge Nitro and thank God for that because I wasn't even scratched. What I was was mortal. My life was so insignificant to physics that I was the bug on that truck's grill for 50' and my humanity, my youth, didn't matter to that multi ton death machine. We always talk about how short life can be but I was a stupid immortal teenager until that moment. Now I'm thankful for life, I'm respectful of physics and my fragility, and I give semi trucks a wider space than they need because I never want to mess with a semi truck.
I was in a high school track team my freshmen year, and we were all packed into the bus bound for another town to compete. I sat in the front of the bus so could fully witness what was about to go down. There was at least one train track to cross along the way. The bus driver did what he was supposed to, which was to come to a stop and check the lights for trains approaching the crossing. He started to drive forward just as the lights turned on and kept going about a foot or two before realizing that the lights were flashing. Naturally everyone took out their phones to either record or Facebook the train about to hit the bus, and the driver began to back up before the arm came down on top of the bus. We were a safe enough distance away to not be hit, but the bus was definitely rocking back and forth from the force. Also if the train has been carrying logs and a chain came loose, it would have sliced through the front of the bus. Everyone else was screaming, but I felt nothing. Kind of an "well that just happened," thought, probably shock. No one performed their best at the track meet, I honestly had no clue how the teachers expected us to do after such an experience. Not sure what happened to the old bus driver, but a different one was there to pick us up. How it changed my outlook in life? Pretty morbid. I've had too many close calls to be afraid to die. Seems every time it's like an old friend coming to check in on me. "Oh hi death, I haven't seen you in a while how you doing? You got to go? Okay, bye I'll see you later!" 😕
i’ve avoided shootings, car accidents, train accidents.
the one that’s the most freaky is i had picked up a package from the post office. i usually go the instant a light is green, i have a really fast reaction time. for some reason this day, i had been inspecting the package, and spaced out for a second.
when i looked up, the light was green. i saw a large pickup truck pulling a huge camping trailer blow through the red light. had i gone the second the light turned, i wouldn’t be here.
this light is the worst! people turn without looking and i watched a woman jump out of the way of one of those lifted trucks. ugh.
Check to make sure you're subscribed to this guy. I've been listening to his reddit readings for a little over a year after all the robot shit and just saw that I wasn't. Subscribed immediately thanks for keeping the boredom away Rufus
The only time that nearly "kicking it" was somehow getting poisoned by a dead spider it ended up paralysing my diafram and all it did was just give me a fear of spiders
Story 11, Oklahoma's Alfred Murrah Bldg Bombing: COINCIDENTALLY, the day before the bombing, ALL the ATF Agents in that building were told NOT to come into work that day.
Later, when they asked why the ATF agents were All absent, their Supervisors gave some excuse like a training exercise or something, but the Agents were just Told Not to come in.
So, thanks to their supervisor's Gift of Prophecy,
they all magically avoided death that day, or perhaps it Was Just Coincidence.
I was actually in San Francisco one time at night as we were going to watch a performance of "Jesus Christ Superstar". I'm not a religious person myself, but I do enjoy the music. I honestly was delighted by it all. When the performance ended and we left the theater, my family and I discovered that we just narrowly missed a shooting right outside! While we didn't see the perpetrator(s), we did see the aftermath of a crime scene and cops surrounding the area. It makes me think how crazy San Francisco can really be at night and not to underestimate being in the right place at the right time.
If the Polisch craftsman in the workvan in front of my dad in a recently formed traffic jam didn't get out of his van to talk to the guy in the other van in the next lane… Both he and my dad would have been likely injured or killed. A bus crashed into the end of the traffic jam, my dad saw it as he saw the craftsman making gestures and staring, he managed to slip in between the two lorries on the right lane onto the shoulder and the bus 'just' crashed into the now empty word van (had only the driver, the craftsman in it) into the back of yet another lorry.
Since the traffic jam was fresh and due to police blocking the road my dad doing his action movie move that had him stopping on the shoulder after the dash for the gap in between vehicles my dad basically stopped at the feet of police sitting on the shoulder. They immediately approached him to scold him for whatever bs he pulled but before they could do so the bus made impact.
Bus driver and people in the bus luckily didn't get injured to bad. Police basically congratulated my dad for his second birthday and his quick reaction as they assumed he would have been killed had his car been trapped in between the bus and the work van.
In the end police, my dad and the Polisch craftsmen from the two work vans chatted for a bit and my dad was able to continue his 500+ Kilometer drive. At first police misread his license and thought he was from the area, about to be home quickly…
Police actually told him to have a beer to celebrate once he comes home… Gotta love Bavarian police xD
My friend missed a flight with her class, only for the plane to crash before reaching the final destination. She and her classmates were relieved, but then more and more of her classmates died off mysteriously.
