  1. I can understand deporting people who have made bad decisions, like criminals. But now they’re going after innocent children and adults who wanted nothing more than a better life. It’s heartbreaking to watch, knowing there is absolutely nothing you can do.

  2. In individuals and families are displaced all over the world. Some by greed, some in pursuit of a more prosperous life, some by nature disasters, some by disease, some by war, and some because they broke a law. These “illegals” are just being returned to their country of origin. When there they can apply to come back legally. Y’all act like they’re being sent to another planet. Stop it. If you really care and want to help donate to their legal funds!

  3. Yes, but they cannot expect to just be given things because that’s not how life works. You have to enter this country legally and through the proper channels. You can’t just come in and take from the people who have been paying into this country for years. It’s also a SECURITY issue if we just allow whoever to enter our country, whenever.

  4. EXACTLY. Sonetimes people don’t have the chance to get papers. Sometimes they’re coming to places because their old home was DANGEROUS, in which case they probably were more interested in keeping themselves and loved ones safe then entering the country legally. And there are lots of other reasons people can be undocumented. It’s absolutely fucked up to be deporting innocent people

  5. Yes I completely agree it is 100% wrong, treating other humans like they’re less than us just because of these imaginary borders people came up with is just wrong especially because you know we’re also humans is just wrong😭🥲😔😑.(also I’m sorry, but this is a book channel and I can’t in Percy Jackson one of the big themes is names have power, and when you put words have power, that’s the first thing I thought of.😅)

  6. Precisely! My favourite line from To Kill A Mocking Bird is Scout saying to Jem "Naw Jem, I think there's just one type of folks. Folks." what she was basically saying is that no matter where you are from, the colour of your skin, you are a human, just like anybody else. I don't understand how you can hate somebody so much purely because they are different, and Miss Harper Lee must have thought so too. Writers can change the world, and when you speak out against injustice @darling.writers, you have an impact on the world around you, and the effect is widespread! I'm a teen in Australia!! So just keep doing what you're doing, stand up for what you believe is right, and care. Always care.

  7. I’m actually so surprised nobody here is talking about the act LITERALLY CALLED the alien enemy act. That name is wild. I can understand calling them illegal, because whether you like it or not the truth is they (basically, the lines are blurred here) came in illegally. But alien is awful

  8. I think it’s so unfortunate how people dehumanize immigrants but at the same time I believe America has been taken advantage of by the immigrants who aren’t coming here because they need a safe place so many women are trafficked away because of the people taking advantage of this system my heart goes out to everyone who is trying to get here for safety but at the same time we need to protect Americans too and it’s a shame how much the system has been manipulated to the point such a horrible new system has to be put in place but I think trying to stop people from coming in with bad intentions is not horrible

  9. Hi, I like history, shall i tell you something? Dehumanising a minority, regarding them as something other than human is called objectification and was used before every almost every mass killing. Hitler used it, for one. Do you remember what happened to the jews? It started with him referring to them as rodents. It started with him labeling them as different. It started with him blaming them for Germany's problems. And right after the German's had economic problems, too (wall street crash). Hmmm, I'm seeing a patern here.

  10. Thank you for using Pocahontas songs to show the irony of those statements. 💀 (All of the European ancestors were aliens to the Natives who’ve been here much longer than us. They welcomed them, and yet they ended up alienated by them. Those Euro-Americans pushed them out of their homes, and claimed it for themselves. The Americans of today do not represent freedom for mankind. The amount of power tripping they’ve done over other people is ridiculous. They’ve been alienating natives from their own country for centuries. I believe that’s the worst part about all of this. Americans aren’t even actually Americans according to their own standards and history. Especially since it’s no longer a birth-given right. So what if you’ve never been to Europe? It’s where your blood is from. Same thing, right?)

  11. that’s the legal term tho? alien just refers to someone from a foreign country. Ie, an undocumented american in say el salvador is still an illegal alien

i can understand like having different opinions on illegal immigration but that’s the correct legal term and definition. An alien is someone from a foreign country- if they aren’t a legal usa citizen then they are aliens. Same for other countries
