Looks fantastic, but not sure about readability indeed. Probably worth a quick shot.
Looks fun 🙂
Looks good for hollow knight fans stuck in office jobs
3:05 It's been out for a year on PC already.
I feel like it would have been better suited to a metroidvania
Lost interest when you said rougelites
Sounds too difficult for my blood. I can't even get into Hollow Knight because of how restricted I feel and my luck in Slay the Spire and Hades makes me wonder if rogue-lites just hate me.
Nitpick: death and Death are both nouns. Might have been better to say death the concept (or action?), and Death the character.
basically what esty8nine said in his early review…seems like there are too many misses than hits with this game
Why must everything be a roguelike
They better have a mod of Death from puss in boots for this
Hmmm. Glad I saw this. Might wait for updates.
I would play the sh*t out of this if it had an easy mode. The art style is absolutely amazing!
Basically a hollow knight clone.
If someone praises Hollow Knight for the visuals, this for me is way better. Hollow Knight was way more monochromatic for me…
I have had this on steam deck for a while and it's very good. Looking forward to playing it with the updates.
Deaths door?
Ah damn it.. I was so excited for this game because I thought it was a metroidvania like salary man. Way less excited for a rogue like.
For some reason, I didn't realize this was a rogue light. I'm out! lol
"Lacking plot"…Have you played Hollow Knight? There's no story really unless you look into the lore, which is confusing af. BUTTTT the game is outright amazing and beloved.
I'm glad to see people are finally sick of rogue-likes. I just wish developers felt the same way.
Fuck indies being swarmed with roguelikes, metroidvania supremacy.
That art style does look pretty dope
Huh feels like it should have been a metroidvania
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for getting subtitles up on a number of things. You guys eliminated my one gripe about your channel.
Love me love me say that you'll love me. Milk me milk me say that you'll hold me.
I don’t game much so I’m not sure how these systems work all the time.
I added “Have a nice death” to my wish list on Switch. It said it had a file size of 5GB Now when I’m about to preorder it, it says it’s 1.8GB Why did that happen?
Maybe I'm old school. But I like to know what the hell I'm looking at when I play a game
Still not a fan of this genre as a whole so I don't play these kinds of games much, but there's always so much good art and quantity animations in them that make me want to. The aspect of starting new runs with randomized progression just isn't my thing though, always leaves me heartbroken
Yeah I've heard this game is a bit messy in the "execution department," one might say, although it looks nice.
I'm like 666😈
I would have bought the game if it was just a story game and not a roguelite.
Feels like they made a metroidvania but decided roguelikes sell better.
Been looking for a game to scratch that Dead Cells itch since I completed it. This might be that game.
Are the levels procedurally generated each run or is it the same copy and paste path every time?
It was a dumb decision to make it rougelike it would’ve been way better if it was metrovania or something like hollow knight, what a shame
I'd play this game… if it wasn't a Rogue-like.
Yeah, I'm sorry to all the Hades fans (kinda. I don't hate the game's fanbase, but personally think that game looks ugly and unappealing but that's literally just my OPINION so it doesn't mean shit), but Rogue-likes are a major turn-off for me. The idea of getting so far, dying, and then losing EVERYTHING with the entire map changing to make it even harder to understand where you're going isn't fun for me. The only ones I've played were Enter the Gungeon (a game I genuinly hate with every fibre of my being), Cult of the Lamb (a game that I thought was fun even with the Rogue-like elements but just prefered the cult management half more), and I've tried Skul and Dead Cells (just personally don't care for them all that much).
Is any level/biome progression saved at all? Or do you always start over from the very beginning on every run?
I'm sorry about this but can you do a new Have a Nice Death review after the full release of the game?
Ps The official full game itself was release at 22th March 2023
I may pick this up when the full version drops.
But you play as death so you can't die correct?
Is the game challenging?
The colour palette seems appropriate to the topic though?
Man, i wish they would review a rogue-like for once…
