The theme for August is action heroes and hunting season has just begun! Jean Claude Van Damme delivers some real spicy cajun-style (by way of Belgium) justice in the John Woo shoot-em-up Hard Target.
In Seen It, we tackle troubled women, difficult man-children and more.

Congrats on your 250 episode milestone! Here's to 250 more episodes of hilarity! 😀
Awesome! Movie!
Gods, has this really been going for a decade?
He beats 'em back to the bayou?
it's pronounced "track turd bean" and that's probably why you're having trouble researching it
Cajun! THAT'S Van Damme's accent! I've finally narrowed it down.
Is this the movie where he punches the snake?
If you need another Wilfred Brimley joke, just bring up Ewok Adventure. That’s enough of a joke in itself
Star Trek: The Original Series had the term "tractor beam" a decade before Star Wars, and I'm sure the term predated that.
8:30 – Oh, shit. It's That Guy. From The Mummy.
Chance Boudreaux is the Three-Eyed Pigeon.
I love John Woo's Red Cliff & Red Cliff II with his sleek style and epic scale.
The grass isn't gonna rake itself.
Without Googling, I can say off of the top of my head that Star Wars DID NOT originate the term tractor beam. Episode 4 released in the mid to late 70's and Star Trek (which used the term in the OG series) originated in the mid to late 60's.

EDIT POST-GOOGLE: The term has been credited to writer E. E. Smith who used it in a novel he wrote in the 1930's called Spacehounds.
Tractor beam was definitely used before Star Wars.
Currently watching this in my hotel room after Folks Con, now I’m thinking we need a Basement Con all about movies!
Please tell me y'all saw Nope.
Great video.
There are no tractor beams in Star Wars. You mean Star Trek. Sheesh.
Seen it: Pete Smalls is Dead? Incredible cast, but the movie slipped under the radar somehow. Peter Dinklage killed it! The only thing I didn't like about it was Warpaint's Theresa Wayman's fake accent which, otherwise didn't overshadowed her decent big screen debut.
Nerdtastic, my friend.
This settles it. I'm now officially going for the wet look.
Can't decide if Craig has more of a "men in black" or "Reservoir Dogs" vibe. Is he going to confiscate my Roswell debris or remove my ear? #Mystery
STAR TREK TOS was the first place I heard the phrase "tractor beam," and that was 11 years before STAR WARS. It stood out to me, when it showed up in STAR WARS, and made me wonder where it originated. Like lots of SF tropes, it started with the pulps, by E.E. Smith back in 1931, as entity447b accounts below.
Please do Bloodsport
@Blame Society here’s my movies
1: Bloodsport 2: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie 3: Street Fighter 4: Supercop & 5: City Hunter
Right now I'm way too drunk to give a coherent response to Craig's Cassavetes rant, but I watched The Killing of a Chinese Bookie a while back and I hated it as well. So, I think I'm with you on this one, Craig!
8:33 I almost died choking on my pizza at the Buster Bluth joke, but it was worth it 🤣 Congrats on 250 eps! 🥳
10:40 😂🤣😂🤣
Thank you for your contributions my entertainment over the years – Congrats on 250!
Thanks for the BotB rundown at the end.
really nice of john woo to provide the material for the third Brimley joke himself
My favourite Van Damme movie as a kid, so ridiculous and over the top. Great Stuff 🙂
Quarter millennial episode – way to go!
Also this movie sucks because the "Most Dangerous Game" premise has been so done and done and done.
