In a nutshell, the rare times this show sticks to the source material then we get a good halo series, when they do their BS the show is horrendous.
But joe, atleast the writings room was diverse
I know im like a week late but i aint paying for paramount and my free streamin site took a dump for like 4 days. Finale made no sense and I've been giving it the benefit of the doubt even as a non halo fan. I just wanted a decent sci fi show gdi. Why do studios greenlight these arrogant self involved directors and producers who always come into these beloved franchises and are like "Oh yeah, the fans don't know what they want so we're going to disregard the source material and just do our own thing". Like, every time why? The Halo series has enough lore for 5-7 seasons of TV, maybe more. Half a season could have been spent on the battle of reach. Hell, you could even make a damn ODST spinoff with Nathan Fillion as Buck. Fans would have been foaming at the mouth for a 1 to 1 take on the series, I would have loved it myself as I only played the campaigns once and didn't play Halo 5 so I kind of got lost the plot of the lore / story.
The show is actually hot trash. Top to bottom. Anyone who thinks it’s not objectively bad is either just overly deprived of wanting any version of a halo show for years and they’ll just eat what they can get at this point (which yea I understand) or probably never played the games or read any books. Even without any knowledge of halo at all the show is poorly written, careless pacing. Not juggling all the different character stories or making sense of any in world establishments of tech or rules. Even establishing anything like that at all tbh. A fail of an ensemble. The side characters that get their own episodes practically that you have no real connection too. Not utilizing any sound effects or music from the games. It’s insane. It’s just bad and it’s an insult to the IP and to most anyone who put time into the games or lore at all. The original characters are terrible.
It’s absolutely awful.
If you did enjoy the show im surprised but im glad for you.
But you gotta be half ass watching it on your phone or have some excuse for it because if not you just have trash taste.
I watched most of the show. Not because i liked it, but it was kinda like watching a train crash in slow motion. Curiosity took the better of me I guess. I will never get those few hours of my life back.
I think the reason why people are big it up because they want Paramount to drop another season and give them more funding
dude that flood looks like bunch of lazy ass zombies, and if its so potent to spread to command center why major characters like halsey's daughter and sorens family didn't get infected? isn't flood airborne? plus those zombies has little parasites,which, while small in size, still exhibit parasitic behavior? who tf is quan? how tf the marine chick join spartan ?
I do love how badly Joe is trying to not call everyone an idiot for liking this nonsense.
I would like to see an edit of both season 1 & 2 with all the bs nonsense edited out.
That wasn't Janine, the flood was already starting to control her. That's why she's touching everyone and you see through her eyes how the flood is controlling her right before she attacks the scientist.
only thing ive liked about the show so far is Soren, was hoping hed get Vaniks armour
No ODST troopers on Reach is what ripped my heart out, I was so excited to see ODST's dropping into Hell. This whole season should have been dedicated to the Fall of Reach. Noble 6 of the Spartan 3's should have been featured because he also earned the title "Hyper-Lethal-Vector" was the only other Spartan to hold this title alongside The Master Chief, and in the words of the Silver Timeline series, was not a Demon. He was just bad-fucking-ass.
One thing I haven't heard anyone talk about is how every episode has been directed by a different person. I feel like that's a major issue with the series as a whole

Pretending to be a Halo fan is hilarious. Watched you play 30min of Infinite and realized you’re a poser, never cared for Halo unless its for clicks.
I'm actually surprised they didn't make it a while male to be the one spreading the Flood.
I have a coworker that enjoys the show and keeps telling me I'm missing out. He only played a little bit of halo CE and hated it. That's the people this show is made for.. he also loved rings of power
