Note:
Hey all 🙂
The very last instalment. Thanks for coming along on this ride. What a great book. I got a bit choked up recording the ending chapters, it even had me crying at one point.

It’s been a long time recording and releasing these! See you for the next story, but I’ll be taking a break for now.

Later,

  2. A lot of disappointments with this book. Especially coming from First Strike which I really liked.

    – Kurt's whole deal of having a sixth sense and being able to sniff out dangerous situations before they happen didn't come back at all. That should have been a big thing in the latter half of the book
    – Around Chapter 12 we meet Team Saber and learn about the new Spartan-IIIs (Holly was demoted twice for fighting, Mark is the best rifleman, etc.) but none of those attributes are portrayed in the rest of the book. The Spartan's rarely feel unique and they could just be swapped out.
    – What was the whole deal with Team X-Ray and them going missing in Zone 67? I also find it weird we never get Kurt's reaction to it because of the time jumps. That was a major disappointment
    – The bioaugments Kurt gives the Spartan-IIIs to make them stronger but at the risk of them "snapping" also wasn't a big deal like it should have been. The idea of Spartans that are really powerful but also dangerous is a cool idea that they set up and never delivered on
    – What was the anomaly that made all the different factions follow slipstream away to a different place light years away from Onyx too? That was odd and maybe I missed something there

  3. In short, another stellar Halo novel from Eric Nylund – some of the themes from the games, that I can understand, are carried over here. Feels every bit like somethin' Joe and Jason over at Bungie would have written for a main- or sidegame.

Were it not for you, I may never have gotten to experience Ghosts for myself. I've long known about this and the other novels, but there was always some something that came up that… redirected my monies away from buying a hard copy of a novel. Very generous, you are, sharing your audiobook with us.

Also, something of a hint as to your character – every reading has been of the tier that Random House or Penguin, whichever other world-famous audiobook studio there is, releases. Simply, best-tier audio quality.

As always, thank you for all your hard work, and I look forward to hearing out more of your recordings.

  4. 🎉🎉BRAVO🎉🎉

    Well written and well read.
I was so enthralled that I'm going to have to work an hour after my shift in order to make up for the time I couldn't focus on anything save for this story.

  5. Thanks for this. I saw this the day you uploaded but didn't get to listen till yesterday on my long drive home. I've just I've been a fan of the games since the beginning but generally like to be read to than actually doing the reading lol. I'm really hoping you're gonna do more of the books too. Maybe Contact Harvest next? 🤔

  6. INCREDIBLE ending to this book. By far my favourite of the books. I absolutely loved the way you relayed Cortana’s distress call in the earlier chapters. It felt so alive and it was so fun figuring what point in time this was between the games and the books. Again thank you for this incredible gift to your partner and to us listeners.
