The most recent update for Halo MCC added a secret cut beta Mongoose into the Halo 2 game files. It turns out it’s possible to spawn in and drive without modding and you can even do it on Xbox too!

So can mongeese spawn randomly in matchmaking?
I remember when RvB Episode 100 released, and it ended the way the series began with Red Team receiving a new vehicle – an ATV which was just a PNG of a Mongoose from the Halo 3 beta masked over Halo 2 footage – this was in June 07, so Halo 3 itself wasn't even out at that point.
Really hits somewhere deep in my heart that the Mongoose in now completely possible to spawn in legit in Halo 2.

The MCC crew is officially 343's A-team. They're the guys that need to be working on Halo, not a bunch of random contractors with zero understanding of what they're working on, selected because they dislike the franchise.
Does the mongoose show up as a tool of destruction in the post game stats if your kills from the match are mostly splatters with it?
So are they planning on adding this into mcc for new halo 2 content?
I found a glitching lobby for h2 and one map was coag, and i never realized this was added. I got some footage for a somewhat high quality video telling the origin and how it was added in the mcc.
With the Mongoose added on random, for both Xbox and PC, are we sure they aren't planning to fully add the H2 Beta cut content?

How are you all able to get MCC to function for Floodfight? Every time I join a matchmaking game of ODST firefight it crashes

along with the tags of anything else that was potentially included in the update
just incase they patch it out

This makes me wonder if it's an accident and intended for a later update? since it's not finished still, animations for wheels, no horn and same sounds as warthog and ofc oddly you can't drive it as a Spartan 🤔

I got it on Zanzibar just by having the vehicles set to Warthogs, on the beach it spawned next to the Warthog (instead of the ghost)
I hope they add an option for the Shadow too!

I hope 343 eventually finishes this. All they really need to do is port over the same animations from Halo 3, and maybe use the same sound effects, and I think the mongoose would work perfectly fine in Halo 2. I think 343 should add more cut content to the older halo titles to make the games more interesting. I would really like to use the handheld machine gun in Halo 2.
