Eli Roth made a boom boom. Mike and Jay talks about Borderlands. What a misfire! Odd casting choices. No one want to make. Adult professionals pretend to “care” about characters in video game they never hear of so they can make a check to pay for their yachts and shrimp. The behind the scenes interviews where these clowns pretend to care might be the most cringe rizz eva. Jayme Loins Curtis (daughter of Bill Curtis son of King Arthur of Legend) is so old even Michael Myers is too old to kill her. Even Activa won’t eat her old gut rot. She pretends to love and care about her character, Rizzo McPizzo but don’t give none sh*ts. Her net worth is 197 million dollars. Why she even work anymore? Just be grandma and let others have roles. Poor Cate Beckenblachett. Is it that hard to find good project? Tar 2: Back to the Tar Pits? You’re much better than to play Ronald McDonald’s sister. Kevin Hart like cash. We all know that. He sell out super bowl to tell jokes to audience of mongoloid farmers and city-folk who laugh at man on stage. He take role for cash and babbles about how he’s learned so much and loved working with other actors, blah blah blah. Hart has over 500 million dollars in his bank now. Little girl who play Tiny Tim cry when she sees Rotten Tomato score. “Am I rotten?” she asks her mommy and daddy. Did I ruin the movie? No. EVERYONE ruin the movie. Especially Eli Roth. Craig Mazin said, “Take my name out you’re f**king mouth!” before he slapped this film on live TV. Eli Roth left the set in a jet pack when the filming was done. The second he called action for the first time he realized it was a horrible mistake to cast numerous old ladies in the film who players of this game have never ever heard of. Should have made the cast of TikTok stars or YouTubers like the clown MrBeast. “What have I done?” he say! I ruined the legacy of this game no one has ever heard of! Whoopsie! Off to shoot Thanksgiving. Maybe making this film was a bad dream? Maybe they fix it in post. Doesn’t appear to be so. This movie cost 110 million dollars to make. Sad to think that you could have made 110, one million dollar movies. So many interesting stories and ideas and Borderlands is a result of the old school Hollywood bloat and dinosaur thinking. You could have made 200 million dollars uploading a video to YouTube called “I tried all the fast foods and guess which one made me sh*t the most” so many people would have watched that. I’d watch that. End the madness. Art is dead.

I will never think of this movie again
Read the description in Plinkett voice. You'll thank me.
It’s like someone found a crate full of Borderlands action toys with vague descriptions on the backing cards and just made up their own story and filmed it.
Mike & Jay probably had more insight into the franchise than the film itself did.
They made a Borderlands movie?
oh no why are cate blanchett and jamie lee curtis in there Dx
The City Council of Manassas, Virginia, passed a resolution condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) and forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience in China on November 27, 2023. The resolution pointed out that city staff should inform local residents and the medical community about the risks of traveling to China for organ transplants, in order to help prevent local citizens from becoming unwitting accomplices in China's state-sponsored forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience.
Vice Mayor Pamela Sebesky (second from left) presents the resolution to Falun Dafa practitioners during the City Council meeting.
The city’s Vice Mayor, Pamela Sebesky, personally presented the resolution to local Falun Dafa practitioners during the city council meeting. She said this resolution is very important because it can remind and inform the public that such cruel persecution and inhumane things are happening.
In her speech, Ms. Tang, a local Falun Gong practitioner representative, thanked the city councilors for their support of human rights and religious freedom. Ms. Tang said that this action is particularly meaningful as the holiday approaches, because the American people freely celebrate their traditional religious festivals, but Falun Gong practitioners in China face imprisonment, torture and death because of their beliefs. She added that this courageous resolution will bring blessings to the residents of Manassas.
Falun Gong practitioner Wang Chunyan, who has personally experienced the persecution in China’s labor camps, and who worked with the city to pass the resolution, said that in China, the CCP’s persecution confuses people’s perception. She told of her personal experience to the American people in order to let them know that there is still such an evil regime in the world that harms people. Ms. Wang said that righteous people should work together to oppose and stop this persecution, so that mankind can return to normality.
Currently, the Virginia House of Delegates and 25 counties have passed similar resolutions in the past two years, and the Governor of Virginia and five cities in the state have issued proclamations or resolutions to support Falun Gong.
Resolution from the City of Manassas
The Resolution from the City Of Manassas states, “To raise awareness among Manassas residents and the medical community of the risks of traveling to China for organ transplants in light of recent reports of state-sponsored organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience.
“in June 2016, the United States House of Representatives unanimously passed House Resolution 343, condemning the systemic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from practitioners of Falun Gong and other prisoners of conscience.
“Manassas residents should be fully informed of the organ source in China before they make the decision to engage in organ transplant tourism in China, and the Manassas City Council should assist in raising awareness in this regard.
“Now, therefore, Be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Manassas hereby condemns the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong, harvesting of organs from prisoners of conscience in China, and use of prisoners of conscience for slave labor in China.”
My local theater move Deadpool and wolverine into a smaller room when this movie came out, but within like 3 days they flip-flopped the rooms back
Krieg exists because Kevin Hart is too small to pick up Claptrap and put him in the car.
Kind of a poetic summary of the movie; pointlessly contrived.
1:45 who would have guessed that the intentionally annoying robot was an annoying part of the movie
Borderlands was never going to be good but it didn't have to be THIS bad
Every couple of minutes “I don’t want to compare it too much to Guardians of the Galaxy” proceed to explain why Guardians is the superior movie.
The most egregiously botched thing about the Borderlands movie's reliance on Easter eggs/ in- universe references, is that characteristically, the games themselves were full to the brim w/ clever parodies & references to OTHER pop-culture icons! Everything from clever literary nods like Canterbury Tales, to contemporary classics like Clint Eastwood & Mothra, then onto modern franchises like TMNT, Aliens, Starship Troopers… everything… Missions, bosses, collectibles, characters, & dialogue revolved around this concept of celebrating the rich history of sci-fi & horror pop culture. With all that greatness removed, on top of all the on-screen adapted characters in no way representing the source material, it truly has nothing going for it. May have worked on 6 year olds & victims of the '93 film for Mario, but that shallow crap won't fly for a series defined by its intellectual approach to such absurdity
Long story short: all they had to do was focus on tongue-in-cheek satirical references to OTHER films & the comedy would have hit a lot better. Think about it: they could've played up on the dramatic irony that the audience knows about pop culture meta & that Kevin Hart & co. aren't in on the joke, as if the actors also know nothing about real-world pop culture. MOTHRAK, Damnit! Also just make it a joke in-film that everyones too old & putting their boots back on 10 yrs too late or something idk. No spoilers but some charas in Borderlands don't even make it to middle age, surprise surprise!
Mike said the thing! He said Star Trek!
I wont watch anything with Kevin Hart post 2018 i dont know what happened but he is not funny anymore
For you dudes who didn't play they games, its been mickey-moused so as not to offend anyone. Psychos used to go on unintelligible rants of near gibberish threats & behaved more like war boys from Mad Max, with morbidly dark humor & delusions of grandeur. Roland was over 6ft tall & had an attitude that matched. Cl4ptr4p the (robot) swore, & had a more unfiltered, crass way of communicating w/ meatbags like ourselves (much like Bender from Futurama.) Tannis was an arguably sociopathic survivor who had jumped through so many mental hoops to keep herself on the right side of sanity that she came off as missing a few integral screws. Lilith was a lot like Jean Grey / Pheonix being young and the centre of attention still learning about her own near infinite power, but with relatable humanity & naiveté.
Obvs the little people enemies had to get censored, but come ON! Most Thoroughly off-brand mismanagement SINCE that 1993 Mario Bros.
Bad writing + bad directing + bad casting= bad movie not going to even stream this for free
Put Bryce Dallas Howard as Lilith and let David Eddings voice Claptrap and get a different director who cares about being true to the atmosphere borderlands the game has
there's not really a plot to the game
"I´ve never been asked to rubbish-up the Queen´s palace!" 😅😂🤣
See if they played the game, they wouldnt of needed to get creative, they could of just recreated the sets from the game. The sets look like what they think the game looks like.
i dont see the goal of the movie tbh. they wanted to make a movie about a game, but didnt have any plan besides that.
they are not trying to remake the game as a movie, they dont tell an original story, they take the game characters and change them up just enough so they are different but not enough to justify the changes, and they didnt keep the style of the games. they dont take any creative liberties either.
i cant see why it exists.
As someone who has played the Borderlands series, let me help y'all out, there will be spoilers:
– The game is very gory, so this being an R movie that got shifted to be more "family friendly" sounds accurate
– Cl4ptr4p is intentionally annoying, but it's not immature and doing potty humor.
– Lilith, in the games, is known as the Firehawk, and yes is a hot woman and that is played up in the one liners
– Roland, in the games, is the straight man, a former elite Crimson Lance Atlas soldier who acts as the leader in both the first and second games
– Tannis, in the games, is an autistic, socially awkward scientist who provides guidance to the players
– Tiny Tina, in the games, is an orphan whose parents were killed by bandits and who becomes obsessed with explosives. She's from the second game
– Krieg, in the games, is a psycho. In the games psychos are barely contained, mentally unstable characters who typically scream nonsense. In Krieg's case, you get to see his inner dialogue where there's two sides: his sane, rational side that tries to control his body, and the psychotic killer that most people know. He's also from the second game.
– The Vault is supposed to hold treasure, but in the original game, the Vault was actually a prison for a giant monster
– The corporations like Atlas are supposed to be dystopian corporations that try to profit on everything
– The monster they drive through is, I think, a scag, which are mutant dogs with giant mouths. Some get that big in the games.
– The original game had two more characters, Mordecai and Brick. Brick would have been the big dumb strong guy, Mordecai is a wise cracking sniper. So yeah. very Guardians of the Galaxy.
– The original story was that all four main characters (Lilith, Roland, Mordecai and Brick) are all there to hunt for the Vault for the promised treasure.
– Tannis and Tina Tina didn't participate in the hunts. They were just side characters that quests were done for.
So, in essence, Eli Roth made up his own movie, ignored all the stuff about the actual game franchise aside from the Vault being a plot point in the games (there are actual multiple vaults throughout the series).
Atleast the movie got Claptrap 100% accurate to the source material
I still can't believe people thought it'd be a good idea to make Borderlands into a movie. I can't name a single person who played the game for the story. The story for everyone who plays is you're a treasure hunter who has guns, go out and kill some bad guys to get some more cool guns.
Borderlands wasn't all that great of a game to begin with, it was, at best, a serviceable "looter shooter". Worth maybe one playthrough and that's it. And there wasn't much of a story or anything in the way of interesting characters, it was mostly just about running around and shooting stuff to get more stuff. Why they thought making a movie about it was a good idea is something that I can't figure out, aside from assuming someone was day drinking when these decisions were made. I completely forgot they were making a movie about it until I saw this video, so thank you for the heads-up that the movie is pretty much what I thought it would be.
So sad. Borderlands 2 (the game) had one of the best video game stories of all time. And it gave us the diamond pony "Butt Stallion"
