  1. If you climb Hakodate-yama and look south, you'll be looking straight at Oma and Sai village in Aomori. I lived there for 5 years. Nothing beat waking up to the view of the Tsugaru straight, Hakodate-yama, and the Tsugaru-hanto to read the weather. Please consider settling your family in Aomori. It's the greatest lace in Japan.

  2. Thanks for this video John! I visited Hakodate in Oct. of 2019, but had to cut my stay there short due to an incoming typhoon that cancelled my original flight home. I didn’t get the chance to visit Abuya, sad to hear he had to shut down.

  3. Enjoy the petite SV. Those were very popular back in the day, in the 650cc size here in the US. I enjoyed many miles on a Suzuki Vstrom 650 with basically the same engine. I later got the Vstrom 1000 but the 650 was arguably better overall.

  4. This city is just so vibrant and because I love crabs and scallops, ate my worth of seafood during my stay. I can personally finish 6-10 crabs myself… Took home some fried stuff too, the best seaweed market too.

Looks so different in summer! Winter is magical in Hakodate.

    Gacha looks fun!

  8. A show on the "Showa era" might be inline with the death of the queen. Seems to be talked about among some Japanese. I only now heard of it today. New to me.

  9. Totally agreed! The U.S. always good with coming up with ideas but could never achieved the level of perfection and cleanliness that Japan always have been adhered to. So inspiring and impressive of japan culture!
