I wish I could see what Tyler sees while he’s singing. The look in his eyes and the expression on his face makes you wonder what one’s imagination can really hold. He goes somewhere else entirely when he performs.
Tyler just became a father.
What a great explanation of Tyler and his band! I will listen with more intent going forward. I’ve been a fan for a while but have never seen them live.
Is not the god damn truth! When you said that I laughed so hard. Thank you for breaking that part down.
Yes to all of this video
He knows it’s good because he’s lived his songs. They aren’t really characters
4:04 internal subdivisions!
Man. If I knew you irl… I would introduce you to the Fiddle/Guitar player. I think Jesse would be a good interview for you. He's the Professor for a reason.
Tyler Childers – On Purpose
(next album title please)
Can you do a reaction to “Case Number” by Austin Hackett? It’s on all platforms, crazy deep lyrics! Would love to see you react to it
Man I love seeing such high praise thrown on Tyler and my friends in his band. They work their asses off and it’s wonderful seeing so much praise for them. Love your videos.
His cover of S.G. Goodmans Space and Time is amazing
Tyler 'but just imagine you were black' Childers.
Great review .. wish you would do more of their mainstreamish songs though, I want to see you get more views !!
Dude, I absolutely love your excitement and appreciation of the music you react to.💯 Especially the BRILLIANT Tyler Childers ♥️
He’s one of a kind no doubt I’ve been lucky enough to be introduced to him and he was so down to earth. We all knew way back then he was gonna be something special. He remembered my name after seeing him again years later and you know he’s met his fair share of faces I was absolutely floored that he actually remembered me at all he called me by name when I stepped up in line to buy one of the limited (120)early releases of purgatory a month before the major release . The food stamps are always so tight!!
What a spot on way to describe Tylers live performances. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live twice, one being this Farm Aid fest. He is stoic and just broadcasts his message with such passion. Love it.
When someone says.. explain “soul music”.. you Aretha, you get Al Green, and you get Tyler Childers
I love TTC and this song is in my top 10 of his. I can’t narrow it down more than that. I want to see him more than anybody on the planet. The new trio of albums is incredible!!!
Please give your take on Senora May.. Tyler's Lady May.. https://youtu.be/9oCu_V8tnRY
Tyler sings with his eyes. Idk how else to explain it, but it damn sure works. If this is the future of country music, hell we are in great hands…
They released a video called Tyler Childers reimagined where he does a version of this song with just his acoustic and his fiddle player. He also tells the origin story of writing it. That version knocks on the door of just about as perfect as a song can be. Incredible vocal performance added to great instrumentals and all time great writing. It is worth the few minutes it takes to check it out. You can thank me later.
Tyler had a flight land early in Chicago and his phone was dead. His buddy wasn’t supposed to pick him up for a few more hours. He waited at a bar and hated the city so much that he wrote this while waiting on his friend
Gotta do “Hard Times” by Tyler!!! My all time favorite song of his
Please oh please do a Charley Crockett song! He does alot of older covers and they are amazing as well as his own incredible music!
love you the way you talked about his performance and writing. I say the same things at least once a week to anyone who tries to say country isn't great
Yo! Great video. I saw (maybe) the same show? When he filled in for sturgill Simpson. I had already seen sturgill at the same venue, so the fact that he filled in was incredibly good news for me. Cheers!
Ive been listening to Tyler for 2 or 3 years now. Whether he's doing a solo thing with just him and an acoustic or he's got his full band, it's all great.
I'm really liking the new record. The song 'Way of the Triune God' is probably my favorite. It's got this gospel stomp thing going on that hits my ear just right.
Great vid Mike!
Dude… I thought I was the only one. He does the same thing to me. Brilliant.
Please do Colter Walls version of Nothin’🙏🏻
New album was such a let down
I don't know about the guitar in this… but you deserve to hear the lyrics.
Bigtime “That’s How I Got to Memphis” feel on the hook. Also you gotta react to him performing “Greatest Story Ever Told”
My favorite thing about my current favorite artists is the bands… The bands keep it sooo tight. Soooo smooth they do not spill a drop out of the bucket.
“Some people are just on a trajectory and misery loves company” perfect explanation.
Big fucking liberal., I used to love him, but no longer
