Here is a basic video explaining how you setup your 6.5 or 6.5 diesel GM pickups for sled pulling. The LB7 duramax used for this video is one I pull and daily drive. So hopefully it gives a rough idea on how to set them up to prevent breakage!

Put the spring clamps on the front of the pack not the back. Putting them on the back promotes axle wrap. Blocks or adjustable bump stops work great too, paired with tracbars you'll have a fairly solid set up. Up front tierod sleeves, personally recommend kryptonite death grip tie rods.
