Gruesome Discovery in The Ceiling – Our French Renovation, The Good Life

When renovating you are always going to find hidden treats lurking in dark cavities. We’ve found coins, photos and active bee hives and today was no exception. Unidentified remains have been uncovered.

We didn’t expect a lath and plaster ceiling and it had obvious been there for over a hundred years. The plaster showed signs of a roof leak, but hopefully the beams were still in good condition.

The only way to find out was to crack out the crow bars. What we found wasn’t welcomed.

  20. I would of done that as well, just to know its all clean and new must be a relief regardless of the amount of work involved. Maybe see if you can hire one of those ceiling board lifts they are a game changer. Happy Birthday.
