The jewellery experts are always so eloquent and passionate in their appraising.
The Lalique ring appears to be in the form of a front view of the head of a preying mantis (insect). I used to keep one I caught in a jar…. trust me I won't forget those alien bug-eyes and swivelling head 🙂
what a fascinating statement 'its us who are the ephemeral things' I never thought about this obvious thing before. as we die but gems last seemingly forever or rather diamonds at least.

Seems that jade is overrated mainly due to the present demands by the chinese market. ..yet those gorgeous diamonds are underrated by comparison.
It would have been interesting to see other contents of the collection in the vanity compendium. .that was a stunning and interesting collection.
I'm really interested in jewellery, especially older pieces. I wish there was more of these clips, they're the ones I watch the most.
The Laraque I believe is actually a praying mantince .
