I assume the Japanese soldier who supposedly only surrendered in the 1950’s was a reference to Hiroo Onoda, who actually held out in the Philippines until 1974. He was not quite the last member of the Imperial Japanese Army to emerge however, as Teruo Nakamura was discovered by accident and arrested in Indonesia later in the same year.
BTW, it’s Yamato, not Yamoto. You may have been confusing the ancient name for Japan – and one-time most powerful albeit underperforming battleship – with the famous admiral and architect of the Pearl Harbor raid, Isoroku Yamamoto.
Studio Historia has some amazing detail in the models but they best part is they print without issues and painting the details is made easier by how they design the poses. Very nicely done.

The boutique stuff is very Slaine but some of it looks like Hellraiser victims. The butcher reminded me of the kitchens in both Legend and Conan the Barbarian (Thulsa Doom’s palace).
I have just bought Slaine – Kiss my axe and was looking for other models to fit into a larger game. This indy of the week if prefect. If nayone has any other suggestions let me know 🙂
