GREAT NEWS! There's WAY More Dumped Tires Than I Thought…

Thanks for checking out today’s video where we go over the hundreds of tires that are at the Abandoned Racetrack that I’ll be recycling. They were in the adjacent woodline, and even rolled down into active waterways. These are things that are pretty ridiculous to see, and unfortunately there’s no accountability for it by those who dumped them. Furthermore, that’s zero assistance available at the Government level for this type of situation.

What that means is that it’s up to us to clean up the mess.

If you’d like to help support this portion of the Track’s restoration, please take the time to visit the link below and pick up some merch. Every shirt takes care of approximately 2x tires, and the hoodies clean up about 3x.

If YOU are local and can help clean up these tires, shoot me an email at [email protected]

More to come on the track! Spring is here, albeit a WET one. Thanks for supporting by watching. See you guys in the next one!

  1. WIN FREE MERCH! Drop your guess as to how many tires you think are in the big pile. When I get a grand total, I'll see who was closest and main you out some merch! Thanks for watching today's video. Cleaning up this disaster is a big thing on my checklist. Tires don't belong in the woods and waterways where the deer and turkeys are tripping over them.

  2. If you're ever heading up to the Iron range, you can drop a load of them at my house in Saginaw, MN. I get down to the local transfer station often, and I can recycle 4 per trip for free.

  3. Crazy to me that you have to pay to have these recycled. Here in Canada we have a recycling fee charged when you buy tires that makes it free to drop them off at your local landfill if you do them on your own.

  4. good to see you getting back to the track! my guess on tires is like 224 tires …. i have a felling once you get a search party out there to look around, that number may go up… if i lived closer to ya i would come out for free just to help out… on weekends.. sadly I'm all the way in Michigan…. if i ever do decide to make trip up that way for rail-faning ( train watching)… i make sure to reach out…

  5. Maybe run a borescope up the drain to get a better view of whether its just clogged or actually collapsed. Hard to gauge how long that drain line is with gopro fish eye.. but assuming the pvc is 10ft, Guessing its 30-35ft?? Could rent a plumbing scope at a big box store for fairly cheap I would think

  6. Not sure if it’s a thing over there, but over here in England we have a load of tyres to help with the silage clamp we have for the cows winter feed. Helps to weigh down and compact it all so there might be a local farmer who’d take and use them?

  7. Back in my younger years I worked for a dude that picked up the used tires. We used to sell them to the concrete company by the trailer load. Got paid a little bit for it too. Not sure if that’s still a thing.

  8. Very impressive and diverse tire collection you had! Pretty bummed to see it go to the proper owners.

All jokes aside, great work. Nice to see a track owner & operator that cares about more than just the track

  9. I dont understand why you got to pay to get rid of them. In canada you pay a "tax" on your new tires so you can dispose of them for free. Also its bad to bring them to a landfill to get rid of them. They should be recycled.
