Yeah, unrealistic shenanigans with deeds are a tired, old Hollywood trope — because realistic real estate fraud is hard to make look exciting and cinematic. In reality, all Gideon would get for his efforts would be a piece of paper certifying that he definitely doesn't own the Mystery Shack (you know, in case he ever wanted to prove that in court), while Stan would have to go to the county registrar's office to get a replacement one printed.
When he was asked about it in a reddit AMA, Alex Hirsch came up with a fun rationalisation for it: When Quentin Trembley laid down the town's bylaws, he declared Gravity Falls to be a "Gimme-ocracy", where physical possession of the deed really does convey the title to the property, just like in badly-researched TV shows and movies. 😁
in the last decade, there were 2 Disney villains that were above the rest, Bill & lord Dominator from Wander over yonder. The spell Gideon used to summon Bill played backwards is repeatedlybsaying backwards message
