Starsector (formerly “Starfarer”) is an in-development open-world single-player space-combat, roleplaying, exploration, and economic game. You take the role of a space captain seeking fortune and glory however you choose.

  1. oh ! what mod is letting your officers get to level 10? i think the only mod of yours i am not running is automated commands.
    and yes, the Dictator is trash, it has horrible passive flux venting and more mounts than its flux can handle. also, it having a low flux cap is its Achilles heel

  2. Thing is about the refinery boosting item. It can ONLY be put on either a STATION or a planet with NO ATMOSPHERE. The reason I'm putting them in caps is so you might actually READ IT and I would ask you PUT IT IN A NOTE somewhere to remember it easily enough. In other words that one station you have control over is the ONLY place you can put it on currently.

  3. yesterday i had my fun farming alpha cores at one point i came back to the system oh easy fleet left it on auto came back to find it destroyed … sure was a big pain loosing great ship with great weapons 😀 still dont know how they got their ass kicked

  4. There are Cap-ship versions of those. Anything labeled "Strike" should be similar enough in effect. I like the Uhlan Siege Lasers, and the Laidlaw Hullbuster (anti-hull, not strike, but pair with anti-shield and it murders.) Or the Capacitance one that just shoots giant lightning bolts.

  5. Battle tactics that work. Send in big ships, keep them together, bring in the smaller ships about a minute later. Keep them together. Don’t separate your fleets, by keeping them together, acts like a bomber squadron, they stay huddled and protect you from getting flanked, fighter-bombers and shoot down some of the missiles. If you notice, when you go off on your own, a smaller ship will hit your flank. Your continually exposing your rear or side to a 3 prong triangular attack, AI pulls ship back, you tend to follow trying to kill or finish off a ship as it withdraws. AI has a bad habit of sending in smaller faster ships to meet your bigger tanker ships. That’s because they start at the same time but smaller ships are faster leaving the coverage of bigger ships. Some of your ships do worse because you took off the captains too.
