  1. Real shame we don't have more races with rain, it would certainly spice things up. Also, lack of rain at so many tracks is disappointing, I live in Daytona and attend every Rolex 24 and there are several years where rain was a factor at the Daytona International Speedway but yet it's completely dry 100% of the time in GT7. Once again enjoyed your thought provoking peace, hope you have a good week and see you at the next one.

  2. there is also another big problem with the rain in gt7, the physics of the rain and the way the cars behave in the wet are completely poorly made, I myself try to push and be fast in the wet but I can't because it's not clear whether by doing the trajectories when dry are gained or not, furthermore by adding the incorrect behavior of the cars it turns out to be rubbish

  3. Could it be the crossplay PS4/5 causing it ? They dont even use the change in time , the game is so beautiful when its a bit sunset and stufff 🙂 Looking forward to GT8 PS5 only 🙂 Nice video man 🙂

  4. Good vid sir. It definitely feels underused. Another reason could be the issue with cars at the back having too much grip compared to the leaders on a drying track leading to a 'boost-like' effect. Everyone bunches up and the racing starts to feel a bit artificial. If they could tamper it down it would be a lot better. I'm sure PD are aware of it. It may not be a coincidence that the most recent wet race, Nations at Fuji, had the rain arrive near the end. With only a lap or two on a drying track, the grip difference wasn't much of a factor.

Still, I enjoy the unpredictability of random weather races. Even the scripted Suzuka Gr3 and Fuji races were more interesting than a dry race. Especially given Daily C and GTWS tend to be quite 1 dimensional strategy-wise.

I missed the spray reduction, good spot!

  5. Usual pd stuff, half baked features, no comms, and performance problems, actually doubt spray changed for performance, as the performance in general is already poor but now with rain and cars on screen it's still terrible, I'd argue spray would help as cars can be less detailed in such conditions and bits outside of the sky and your car being more covered(cars n track by far have the greatest strain on performance). Anyways, it's still stuck with the same experience for plenty time now

  6. There’s maybe a big lack of players joining the races. When the wet race is on, it’s a cluster F; worse in lower rated lobbies; all of a sudden full T bones and side slams are totally acceptable. It’s totally arcade and turns into a wreck fest. If numbers are bad, PD don’t want that.

My peeve is that there isn’t enough rain. Last time at Le Mans it was rare to happen. If it’s going to be that infrequent, we might as well have rain turned on for nearly every week.

That spray is odd. Not sure if it differs at tracks and car types. But that clip was rubbish – ok light spray nearby on certain car types & speeds, but I don’t want to be able to see the pack further ahead.

  7. Idk if the update changed some things, but tyres feel different, slipstream feels different, the rain has definitely changed. Unsure if TC is the same, seems like it.
But those other ones, they kinda feel strange now

  8. All the particle effects got turned way down post launch, tyre smoke when drifting and dust at the dirt tracks where also hugely reduced. It was update 1.06 same patch that put slick tyres on the cars at the dirt track licence tests.

  9. FYI. they actually reduced particle effects in general very early on in the game’s life cycle. it was during the time where people weren’t happy about the payouts being reduced and the economy being extremely unbalanced.

i definitely remember reading something about this in the patch notes but i can’t quite remember whether it came along with the first content update with the change in handling physics or it was another patch. anyway besides rain particles, tire smoke was also reduced.

  10. Great video Mr Womble. I reckon it’s more than just about rain tho – what about dynamic weather at all? Sunny to cloudy to misty is so easily do-able in the game, but they just don’t use the feature. Such a waste of such an awesome feature of the game 👌

  11. Friend works in Japan. They have massive Problems with Server, if there are to much plying the online Mode. They lost one Server that they lend, and one own Server. In the end, GT7 from PD view, is a offline game.

  12. Logged onto console for first time in a week as been feeling ill … saw the Daily C modifiers 1x & 1x .. turned console off immediately. Jumped onto YT and womble piece on weather is exactly what needs discussing. Crossplay and bad servers surely has something to do with it as mentioned in some comments here
