  1. For Perplexing Chimera just use conjurer's closet and Thassa. They're more readily searched being artifact/enchantment and they fit in the deck even if it's mono blue. And once they're on board you can just start taking spells or stall your opponent because they don't wanna lose their stuff.

  2. I have issues with the thumbnail.
I just got Heartwood Storyteller for my Primal Surgre landfall Karametra deck.
I haven't used it yet but my deck can only trigger it with 15 of my cards.

  3. Rankle cooks in Benedict Kalitas decks. Comes out with solid body, swings in the air immediately, provides you 3 zombie tokens, and can draw you a card in a pinch. Every subsequent turn Rankle attacks, you sac a token and net 2 more.

  4. I feel that you're underestimating the potential of sudden spoiling, because it removed abilities it can stop opponents from winning the game, can even get around cards like heroic intervention when there's a board wipe, and outright waste someone's turn. It's not insane and you will hold onto it for awhile, but it's the kind of card that will usually find an impactful use every game, the only situation in which I can think of it being useless is perhaps against a counter strategy where the base power toughness change becomes far worse

  5. I figured that No Mercy was gonna get a low grade. They were pretty low on Ghostly Prison and Propaganda if I remember correct and those have been amazing for me. You'd be surprised how often in a combat meta that players during combat see you have some kind of card that hurts them and they attack someone else. Propaganda has single handedly won me games when nobody drew an answer to it. No Mercy if left untouched has the same effect. Unless someone is running a token deck they don't want their creatures to die especially if the other 2 players are still alive. Getting 1-3 turns without that chip damage while you build your board and assemble your combo pieces can mean the difference between a loss and win.

  6. I feel you were a little harsh on Vigor. If you're evaluating it based on the fact it's going to be removed at instant speed, then of course it's going to be bad, but the same is true for most permanents. Most times I've seen Vigor, it's been able to accrue a good amount of value before being dealt with in some way. Even just at its base as a 6/6 trample for 6 works nicely for a lot of decks.

  7. I play Felidar Retreat in my Jetmir deck and it ends games. I play the 3 mana sacrifice lands from that set with Sudden Reclamation and a few other sacrifice lands. Being able to put 2 2/2 tokens into play and still cast Jetmir is insane because its an instant upgrade to his ability. But also there are turns where you just give the team +1/+1 and vigilance 4 times in a row.

  8. A pet card of mine that I would love you guys to talk about it Sphinx Ambassador. It’s essentially a bribery when it deals combat damage but the opponent gets to guess what it is. If they guess right you don’t get it. It’s dumb and fun!

  9. Wait, your example that sudden spoiling doesn't stop craeterhoof is wrong. If Hoof ETBs after this effect is in place it enters as a 0/2 with no abilities, so you are not dead…It also stops any type of creature combo since the creatures have no abilites, like lab man etc.

  11. So I don't run it anymore, but you claim sudden spoiling does nothing rotting in your hand as your opponent combos off? So many decks 'comboing' off includes their commander and/or other creatures on board, which sudden spoiling completely shuts down for a turn. Yes that's only a turn, but so many loops require it to be your turn when comboing. Not sure how you guys missed that?

  12. Pretty sure Twilight is strictly worse than Marshall Coup unless you're playing poison or life gain matters. You gain way more than X life by your tokens being able to block.

  13. I have died from lightning bolt in a 4 person pod when down to 2 players. It sucked and changed my opinion on the card. It's not an auto include but the card is good especially if you aren't running white or black. IMO

  14. Group hug is not a bad way to play commander. I know a guy who has a 5 color kenrith commander deck that is full lf cards like howling mine, rites to flourishing, clones for said cards, cards that allow for extra draw and landfall, extra mana for everyone, and he still manages to win the game. His motto is if you dont win the game quick enough he'll just win it for you.

  15. You're wrong about Expressive Iteration. In Legacy, you can play it on turn 3 and play a land and then a 1-drop. In commander, you're unlikely to have enough 1-drops to consistently do that, so it's essentially a 3-mana draw 2, which is Divination. You could say it's slightly better because you choose 2 of the top 3, but it's also slightly worse because it depends on you having a land in the top 3, otherwise it's a 3-mana draw 1.
