I believe you are so naive, an Alien spaces which can travel so far can destroy us in matter of a second without needing to destroy anything or kill any other spaces in the world. We as human with limited technology we created really destructive Wappens!
If the aliens wanted us dead, we would be dead already. Any NEW alien threat that accidentally finds it's self arriving at or near Earth will be met with an already militarized space. Oh yes my friends, space is HEAVILY weaponized already, you'd be naïve not to think it so.
I doubt hostile super advance alien civilization would even try to land and fight head on. If they have technology to do interstellar travel, they'll probably have no problem wiping us out.
Heres why the idea of aliens invading us for our planet and resources is just stupid: Any species capable of traveling freely across interstellar space has undoubtedly already begun colonizing other worlds, the idea they would desperately need our planet is completely baseless and illogical. Lastly any resource can be gathered or created. Star trek replicators are basically possible. if you have the energy to manipulate gravity, you have the ability to convert pure energy into matter. You also have the gravitational ability to pull resources directly out of the heart of stars, in whats called star lifting. This would not only give visiting aliens more resources than they could need, but it would actually increase the lifespan of the sun, actually benefiting life on this planet. Not only do they not need our planet, but it would be easier gathering resources on uninhabited worlds, or even the asteroid belt, and dozens of moons in our solar system. Aliens would not be hostile unless we were hostile towards them. If they wanted to kill us they'd just engineer a virus that we couldn't stop and we'd all be dead within a year.
OR…We are like fish in a pond to breed, grow and provide food. Maybe we're like lab rats to be used to study and experiment on. If there is anyone out there, they are not making any efforts to visit the general populations. They or those that know have not said.
What ever it is, alien, future mankind going back to see what stupid looks like, who knows? If they are real, mans idea of arresting them and keeping them locked up may make us enemies with them. They will be much more intelligent than anyone on this planet. Lets hope the Military and politicians don't screw up as they usually do.
There are the myths that we actually began from alien races and/or our deities from various religions were actually aliens . And they helped humankind start their civilizations.
