Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has been pressed to respond to concerns about the RAF aircraft fleet’s capabilities, which were reported hours before by Sky News.

Defence sources told Sky News the UK will be left “dangerously exposed” after omitting special forces aircraft that played a key role in Sudan evacuations and transported vital ammunition for Ukraine.

  1. Once again we are sitting here sending billions to ukraine while cutting our own army at the same time. Im starting to think we have someone doing an inside job in the government trying to get us ready to be invaded. There is absolutely no sane logic in throwing all your equipment to another country then announcing we wont be replacing anything and even cutting what we have left. Who from russia or china is working in our government?

  2. The money has to come from somewhere, the MPs allowances for food need to be abolished travel unless it’s for flights or train rides removed and there basic salary lowered to a more reasonable amount and all that money needs to go back to the people

  3. When this country has to defend itself or it’s territories like the Falklands again only then will the government will see how poor of a condition our armed forces are in

  4. But that's what the green party and other Eco groups want!!

Did skynews not get the memo about the RAF aircraft causing damage to the environment, especially when they are sent to defend NATO airspace, deliver aid or pick up British citizens.

FYI, first thing that gets cut in a difficult financial period is the military. So the rest of the self entitled assholes can have some money.

  5. The UK is almost 9 trillion dollars in debt. That's 3 times the GDP of the nation. The UK has been on a spending spree giving away billons in weapons to the Ukraine War. This spending will be on the backs of the average Britain for generations. Rather than suing for peace and promoting trade, the government is spending borrowed money and prosecuting war. Time to kick these incompetent plutocrats out of office.

  6. The reality is the RAF Fleet in total (all aircraft types) is woefully small compared to the the potential global threats that now threaten national , EU and global security as a whole. The whole of the Armed Forces is critically undermanned and under equipped to deal with the hostile actions of an increasing number of countries and this decline has been going on for decades across multiple Governments.
