After the adventure , the reason why the same material is separate from each other is that material drop more than one monster. ( like you kill 6 monsters and 2 of them has the same loot )
I'm not exactly sure how the card "Shock Factor" works, but from the wording it seems to me that it wouldn't apply "Shocked" when used as opener. At least that's how I think the text as written would work in MtG, where they have some really nit-picky people spending a lot of effort on being very precise.
In other words, I read the card as:
Normally:
– Interest +10
– Shocked
Opener:
– Interest +17
Got the game myself and it is so calming watching someone else thinking over the best way to create a potion.
Wonder if Roxannes Enchantment could help with the traits on those orders.

My tip for you would be focus less on making the magimin balance perfect, just good enough to be stable and maxing out your couldrons magimin limits! The best way to think about is that there isn't a potion that uses all 5 magimins (at least up through the 3rd cycle)
