  1. Had a pixel 7, it was ok. I gave my phone to my brother, and i traded his pixel 5 in for a pixel 8 and its so much better than the 7. Better size/shape, finger print sensor, screen brightness/ FPS. Does everyday tasks quite well, and games/ videos look great

  2. Upgraded to an 8pro from a 4XL. It's been mostly good. Actually nothing bad to report. But yes the face unlock on the 4XL was better since it had the extra sensors. I'm happy with the fingerprint reader. I also don't notice such a huge difference in the screen image quality from the 4XL to the 8pro. Maybe it's just me.
Loving the wide angle camera and the improved assistant and glad I upgraded

  3. The dumpster fire that is Tensor and the horrible fingerprint scanner are just embarrassing. We're at gen 8 and still feels like a start up. I finally gave up and am loving life on team Samsung. My S21 is still going strong and runs smoother than my Wife's much newer Pixel 7. And has better software support πŸ˜‚

  4. I bought a $50 pixel 5, traded in for $300 and went with the Pixel 8 with the earbuds from Google Store. Overall very satisfied with the phone, the camera, the screen, and battery performance all seems WAY better than previous pixels. Google finally figured out what to do to make the phone stable to the point where it feels like an iphone (fast, easy, yet customizable). The number one thing previous pixel owners should know is the battery life is so much better than other phones (atleast for me, since people always say Google Pixels are a lotterry) I get about 6-7hrs on Wifi/LTE and then to charge the phone it takes about 1hr to go from 0 to 90% and then the phone charges SUPER slowly to get to that final 100% because it's trying to extend the longevity of the battery since it's suppose to be a 7yr phone. I'm very satisfied with this phone for the price of $450 and free earbuds (they're not perfect, but they're definitely worth at least 100$ and I was already looking for some Noise cancelling headphones. I'd say if i had to name 1 negative with the phone, is that the camera feels grainy as hell sometimes compared to other phones, YET when you look at it on any other display or even directly uploaded to YouTube the grain is barely there. I don't understand why the preview looks nothing like the final result. Lastly, if the grain is still to much, simply disabling the Stabilization (which is SUPER smooth) will get rid of a good amount of grain, I guess the AI is doing MAGIC to get that stabilization, but it definitely affects quality from my experiments

  5. My 8 Pro got returned because the cellular signal strength and battery consumption was terrible. The 8 Pro offered 3 hours of screen on time on cellular which is terrible. The cameras aren’t noticeably better, especially the selfie cam that’s still a bit of a muddy mess.

  6. I have the 8 Pro. One big flaw to me (also applicable to the non pro). The magic editor function they are bragging about doesn't work if your 'photo backup function' is not on. So in the end, if you want to use it, you need again another subscription with some online service where you can't get rid of.

Fyi, after some testing, when a photo isn't uploaded yet, the function doesn't work, if you don't have an Internet connection, the function doesn't work. Meaning it's not your phone who is doing the AI calculation, but the server @google

    Otherwise fantastic phone.

  7. It's disappointing that Google have chosen to keep the matte glass with the flagship premium model only. Many people simply wanna have the smaller device, but would prefer it not to be that glossy back which immediately collects every bit of oil on your fingers.
