I respect MatPat and all he did and his goodbye video was nice
But I can't help but feel bitter, because the current retirement age in the UK is 66, it will turn 67 in 2028 and who knows how high it will be when I reach my older years, plus I work in hard labour so that's if I'm lucky enough that my body doesn't break down before then. To be a successful content creator and have that as your primary career is a tremendous luxury and personally I would never give that up

I’m glad they can step away, but just think there’s people out there who work these hours everyday, but they’re not making millions. It’s just their life, 10 years to be able to retire? Easy. Now imagine doing those hours but you can’t retire till you’re 65 or older. Real life sucks.

He takes multiple breaks and that gives him insane longevity and as I grew up with Cory, I'm so happy he does this.
It's nice that he can allow himself to retire but I'll never understand it. He had financial success making those videos. He could've taken a break and returned later on. Most of the people will have to slave away at work until they die or reach retirement age.
